TIFR GS PhD Fellowship 2025

• Monthly Fellowship : Initially, students receive a fellowship of Rs 37,000 per month.
• Accommodation : Students are provided with hostel accommodation, or alternatively, House Rent Allowance (HRA) is provided, depending on the availability of hostel facilities.
• Enhancement After Registration : After successful registration for the PhD program, the fellowship is enhanced to Rs 42,000 per month.

TIFR GS I-PhD Fellowship 2025

• First Year Fellowship : Initially, I-PhD students receive a fellowship of Rs 25,000 per month during their first year.
• Second Year Fellowship : Upon the completion of the first year and a satisfactory academic performance, the fellowship is increased to Rs 37,000 per month.
• Post-Registration Fellowship : After the student registers for the PhD part of the program, the fellowship is raised to Rs 42,000 per month.

Financial Support for Students

• Hostel Accommodation/HRA : Hostel accommodation is provided where available. Alternatively, students are entitled to House Rent Allowance (HRA) based on the norms applicable to the institute and the student’s living situation.
• Fellowship Enhancement : The fellowship is enhanced upon successful completion of registration for the PhD program, which is an important milestone in the student’s academic journey.

Provisional Admission

• Conditions of Provisional Admission : If students do not have the final or provisional certificate at the time of joining, they can be admitted provisionally. A certificate from the Head of the previous institution stating that the student has appeared for the qualifying examination and is awaiting results is required for provisional admission.
• No Fellowship Without Proof : Students who are provisionally admitted will not be entitled to receive their fellowship until they submit the necessary proof of passing the qualifying examination (i.e., their final or provisional degree certificate). Once the proof is submitted, they will receive the fellowship along with arrears from the date of submission or the date of joining, whichever is later.

Deadline for Submission of Proof

• Termination of Admission : If a student’s academic performance is deemed unsatisfactory, or if the student fails to submit the necessary proof of the qualifying degree by the given deadline, their admission will be terminated.
