AIEEE Full Form

AIEEE Full Form : AIEEE Full Form is All India Engineering Entrance Examination. It started in 2002 as a national-level entrance examination conducted by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). The exam assesses students on their knowledge and skills in various domains to get them admission to top colleges in India.

Why did AIEEE start in India?

The AIEEE was introduced in the year 2002 by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). It started in India to allow students to become eligible for admission to many of the top engineering colleges in India through a common entrance examination. Before AIEEE, candidates had to take an entrance examination based on the specific university or college. Every college held its own entrance exam, which made it difficult for students to take part for a variety of reasons, including conflicting exam dates and the fact that each college held the exam at its campus. Due to this AIEEE became popular as it was a national-level entrance examination whose scores were accepted by many universities and colleges.

Evolution of AIEEE To JEE Exam

Before 2002, many colleges conducted their own entrance exam and admission was also conducted as a Common Entrance Test (CET). However, IITs and NIITs demanded scores of high-level entrance tests for admission of students to their campuses. After introducing AIEEE in 2002, CBSE conducted the All India Engineering Entrance Examination in the first week of April. The students appearing in the exam must have completed their 12th grade with a good score. In the year 2017, the Ministry of Education transferred this responsibility to the hands of the National Testing Agency (NTA) which came to be known as the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)

The Joint Entrance Examination is conducted in two stages. JEE Main is the first stage where candidates are screened based on their domain knowledge and candidates who clear the exam with good rank get eligible for the second stage, JEE Advanced. If candidates clear JEE Advanced with a good percentile, they get admission to top IIT colleges in India. The exam is conducted twice every year. The first session is in January, and the second is in April. With the help of JEE Main candidates can get admission to private institutes, government institutes, and NITs. Candidates who prepare well clear the JEE Advanced to get admission in NITs, IITS, IIITs, and GFTIs. Let us know some important facts about the JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
