JoSAA 2025 Seat Matrix Released, Category-Wise Seat Distribution

JoSAA 2025 seat matrix was formally announced on josaa.nic.in website. It indicates the overall number of seats offered by all institutes participating in JoSAA. For 2025, the total seats have been increased: IITs now provide 18,160 seats, NITs have 24,525 seats, and IIITs provide 9,940 seats. To be eligible for admission at any of these institutions, candidates need to undergo the JoSAA 2025 counselling process.
The registration process for JoSAA counselling 2025 is scheduled to begin on June 3, 2025, through the official website. The entire counselling will be carried out online. Admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs is granted based on JEE Main ranks, while IIT admissions require qualifying the JEE Advanced exam. JEE Advanced 2025 result was announced on June 2, 2025.

JoSAA 2025 Seat Distribution Highlights

Open (General) and Open-PwD

General-EWS and General-EWS-PwD

OBC-NCL and OBC-NCL-PwD

SC and SC-PwD

ST and ST-PwD
These seats are allocated through both the All India Quota and the State Quota, depending on the institute’s admission criteria. For context, the total seats offered through JoSAA counselling in the 2025–26 academic session were 62,853, divided as follows:

IIITs: 9,940 seats

GFTIs: 10,228 seats
The 2025 seat matrix is expected to see an increase due to:

How many Government Seats are Available in JEE Main?
As per the official JoSAA 2025 seat matrix, 44,693 seats have been allotted for admission via JEE Main counselling. These seats are spread across NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, with NITs offering the largest share.
