JEE Advanced 2024 Competition Analysis : More than 1,91,000 students have applied for admission to 23 IITs for 17,385 seats through JEE Advanced 2024. According to the experts, 11 students have applied for each IIT seat, so the competition will be intense. 20% of the total seats are reserved for the female supernumerary quota. JEE Advanced exam has a gender ratio of 65% boys and 35% girls, potentially favoring female applicants’ chances of securing IIT seats.
JEE Advanced 2024 and JEE Main 2024 exams witnessed a huge number of registrations. A total number of 14,15,110 candidates appeared for JEE Main 2024 exam, with 2,50,284 candidates qualifying for JEE Advanced 2024 exam. The qualifying JEE Advanced Cutoff was also higher this year than the previous year’s qualifying marks. Of the qualified candidates, 1,91,000 students have registered for the JEE Advanced exam. NTA has closed JEE Advanced 2024 Application Process on May 7 and the fee payment window on May 10, 2024. JEE Advanced 2024 exam is going to be conducted on May 26, 2024 in two shifts i.e., Shift 1 from 9 AM to 12 PM, and Shift 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.JEE Advanced 2024 Skipped by 60,000 Students
According to the expert-analyzed data released by the organization, approximately 60,000 students out of the 2.50 lakh qualified candidates still need to apply for JEE Advanced exam. The primary reason for this dropout is the 75% eligibility criterion in the 12th board exams. Candidates who have secured the qualifying marks in JEE Main exam for JEE Advanced but fail to achieve 75% in their class 12 boards are not eligible for IIT admission.Additionally, candidates who completed their 12 exams before 2023 and those who have exhausted their two consecutive attempts at the Advanced exam are not deemed eligible to participate this year. Candidates will be allowed admission to the IITs based on scores secured in JEE Advanced exam and JoSAA counselling. Registration for JoSAA counselling will begin on June 10, 2024.
