JAB has announced a significant update for JEE Advanced 2025 related to the number of attempts. Students are now allowed only two attempts in consecutive years to appear for the exam. Updated Number of Attempts for JEE Advanced 2025: Students can attempt JEE Advanced only twice in consecutive years, starting from their Class 12 board exam year.- The rollback returns to the rules followed since 2013, replacing the recent one allowing a maximum of three attempts.
Performance in JEE Main: Applicants must qualify JEE Main (Paper 1) and rank among the top 2,50,000 applicants. Category-wise distribution of seats will be as follows:

- GEN-EWS: 23,750
- OBC-NCL: 64,125
- SC: 35,625
- ST: 17,812
- PwD reservations apply horizontally across all categories.
- SC/ST/PwD Categories: Relaxation of five years (born on or after October 1, 1994).
- Exceptions: Students with results declared after September 21, 2022, may also be eligible if other criteria are met.
- Accepted qualifications include:
- Senior Secondary or 10+2 exams recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
- Vocational exams, diplomas, or equivalent international certifications.
