Besides covering the GMAT syllabus topics, candidates must also understand the GMAT dress code requirements and crucial exam day guidelines. Additionally, candidates must adhere to the exam day instructions as non-compliance with these rules may lead to their disqualification from attempting GMAT.
GMAT Dress Code
There is no strict dress code for the GMAT exam, but it’s very important to wear comfortable clothes that help you stay focused. Since the temperature in test centers can be unpredictable, it’s best to dress in layers like a t-shirt and a light jacket or sweater, so you can adjust as needed. Avoid wearing anything distracting or uncomfortable, as you’ll be sitting for a long time during the test.

However, wearing trench coats or oversized jackets with large collars or pockets may require candidates to go through further security checks.
To avoid unnecessary hassles before the exam, male candidates should consider wearing shirts, T-shirts, pants, jeans, jackets, sweaters, etc. Female candidates can wear kurtis, shirts, T-shirts, leggings, jeans, trousers, sweaters, jackets, etc. For footwear, candidates are allowed to choose sandals, shoes, or slippers according to their preference.
