Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria through IBSAT 2024, CAT, XAT, GMAT, or NMAT by GMAC are allowed to participate in the IBS selection process at the IBS Hyderabad campus. The selection process involves multiple evaluation rounds. Candidates need to clear all these rounds to be considered for MBA admission.
Candidates must go through the following selection steps at the IBS campus:
Micro Presentation: Candidates will have two topics to choose from, out of which they must select any one topic and give a presentation. This round evaluates candidates’ ability to communicate ideas effectively and demonstrate structured thinking.
Personal Interview (PI): Those who qualify for the Micro Presentation will proceed to the Personal Interview. This round is designed to assess candidates’ confidence, business knowledge, communication skills, and overall personality. Candidates should approach this stage with a composed and professional mindset.
Final Admission Process: The final selection for the IBS management program is based on candidates’ overall performance in all rounds. Shortlisted candidates will be allocated seats in one of the nine IBS Business Schools based on their cut-off criteria and final selection requirements.
As part of the IBSAT 2025 selection process for MBA/PGPM admissions, candidates will go through a Micro Presentation and Personal Interview. The Micro Presentation carries a weightage of 25 marks. This round is designed to evaluate a candidate's communication skills, clarity of thought, and ability to present ideas effectively.
Here are the details of the IBSAT micro presentation:
Candidates will be provided with multiple topics that will be numbered from 1-100. Candidates must pick a number, with each number linked to a specific pre-assigned topic. If a candidate finds the assigned topic challenging, they may request a second topic by selecting another number.
Candidates will get the option to choose between the two topics. However, they won’t be provided with a third chance.
Once candidates choose a number, they will have 1 minute to prepare and 3 minutes to deliver their presentation.
To ensure effective evaluation, topics are randomized after each selection. Thus, two candidates don’t get a similar topic even if they choose the same number.
This is an individual assessment. Candidates present alone, without interaction or engaging in debate with other candidates.
Each candidate presents before a panel of two evaluators and a group of 9-11 fellow candidates.
No questions will be asked during or after the presentation.
Following the announcement of IBSAT 2024 results, each of the nine IBS campuses will release their individual cut-off scores. Candidates must meet the minimum required percentile to qualify for the Micro Presentation and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.
