IIFT To Accept CAT 2023 Score For Admission MBA (IB), MBA (BA) AY 2024-25

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), a distinguished business school in India, has announced that starting from the Academic Year 2024-25, applicants seeking admission to the institute's two-year MBA programs in International Business and Business Analytics must submit their CAT 2023 scores. Candidates will undergo a selection process that involves various components such as Written Ability Test (WAT), group discussions, extempore speaking, personal interviews, and more.

IIFT Admission 2024: Key Changes

• In a notable shift in the admission process for the 2024–26 batch, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has made CAT 2023 a mandatory examination for securing admission to its MBA (International Business) program in both the Delhi and Kolkata campuses.
• As part of this change, the existing IIFT entrance exam, previously conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), has been canceled.
• This alteration is favorable news for CAT aspirants, as they are now exempt from the separate IIFT entrance exam and can solely focus on CAT 2023.

How is CAT 2023 different from the IIFT Entrance Exam conducted by NTA?

IIFT Admission Tests So Far: Used to Delay the Selection Process

• Before 2019, IIFT used to organize its own entrance examination, which included around 5 to 6 sections with different scoring methods. This exam typically took place soon after the CAT exam, usually by the first week of December.
• From 2019 to 2022, the National Testing Agency (NTA) was responsible for conducting the IIFT entrance exam, consisting of four sections and a total of 110 questions. This test occurred as late as December, and its results were sometimes announced in the third or last week of January.
• However, for IIFT Admission 2024, the assessment will be based on the CAT 2023 score. The CAT exam is scheduled for November 26, 2023, and its result is usually declared in the first week of January or the last week of December. With the CAT 2022 result announced as early as December 21, 2022, this prompt disclosure will enable IIFT to promptly release its shortlist and complete the final selection process far earlier than the current trend that often extends to May or June.
