CAT exam 2023: In a recent announcement, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai announced its admission criteria for MBA programs. According to the official announcement, IIM Mumbai will give 55% weightage to the CAT score during the admission and selection process in the academic year 2024-26. The remaining 45% consideration will be given to PI, academic qualification/work experience, and gender diversity of candidates.

The National Institute of Industrial Engineering was officially renamed IIM Mumbai , which made it the 21st IIM in the nation. Both houses of Parliament, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha passed the Indian Institute of Management (Amendment) Bill 2023 on 8 August to give their approval for the formation of IIM Mumbai. The IIM Mumbai authorities also announced that the institute will provide admission opportunities for three MBA programs through the CAT exam 2023 . - MBA in Operations and Supply Chain Management
- MBA in Sustainability Management
CAT Exam 2023: IIM Mumbai MBA Selection Process
For MBA admissions in 2024, IIM Mumbai has established a three-stage selection process. The shortlisting and selection of candidates will depend on various factors, including CAT 2023 scores, reservation categories, academic qualifications, gender diversity, and more. The following sections explain the stages of the IIM Mumbai CAT selection process:Stage-1
In the first stage, candidates must meet the minimum CAT 2023 percentile cut-offs to be eligible for a Personal Interview (PI). Stage - 2
After the first selection stage, the shortlisted candidates need to appear for the second IIM Mumbai assessment process. In this stage, candidates are called for Personal Interviews (PI) on the basis of their CAT 2023 scores. The merit list for this stage is prepared based on candidates’ CAT exam 2023 scores, their reservation category, and gender diversity.Stage - 3
After both rounds, the IIM Mumbai selection committee will create the final merit list for the candidates selected in each round. For this, the institute will calculate a composite score by considering factors such as the CAT exam 2023 score, class 10/12 marks, bachelor's degree score, work experience, and gender diversity. IIM Mumbai Admission Through IIM Exam 2023
The institute has assigned a 55% weightage to the CAT 2023 score in its MBA admission policy. Regarding the eligibility criteria for MBA programs, an applicant is required to possess a bachelor's degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA. However, for ST/SC/PwD candidates, the qualifying exam score is 45%. Candidates who are in the final year of their bachelor's degree program or an equivalent qualification exam, as well as those who have completed their degree requirements and are awaiting results, are also eligible to apply. These candidates must provide a certificate from the head of their institution confirming their current status as final-year students. For the IIM Mumbai admission procedure, the selected candidates will have to provide their bachelor’s degree certificate verifying that they have fulfilled the program's requirements. The last date for submitting the degree certificate is 30 June 2024. Additionally, they must submit their semester-wise mark sheet and pass certificates by 31 December 2024.
