Karnataka PGCET 2024 Exam: Karnataka Examinations Authority has changed the date of the Karnataka PGCET 2024 exams for MBA and MCA courses. The MBA exam had concluded on August 4, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, and the MCA exam was on the same day, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Candidates who registered before July 7 can download their hall tickets starting July 27.

The exams, originally planned for July 13 and 14, were delayed because they clashed with semester exams at several universities in Karnataka.

Karnataka PGCET 2024 Highlight

The PGCET exam is a computer-based test with 100 multiple-choice questions to finish in two hours, and no penalty for wrong or unanswered questions. The Karnataka PGCET MBA exam includes five sections: Computer Awareness, Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Analysis, English Language, and General Awareness. Each section has 20 questions of equal weight, and KEA does not set time limits per section. Apart from MBA, Karnataka PGCET also covers MCA, M.E, M.Tech, and M.Arch courses.

MBA Full-time Course

To seek admission to a full-time MBA program through Karnataka PGCET, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Possess a three-year bachelor's degree or equivalent education qualification from a recognised institution.
  • For the unreserved category, the minimum marks requirement in the bachelor's degree examination is 50%, while ST, SC, and Karnataka candidates must have 45% aggregate marks.

Part-Time MBA

Candidates applying for the part-time MBA program must meet the following requirements:
  • Have a minimum of three years of work experience before starting the Karnataka PGCET registration process.
  • The candidate's workplace or establishment must be located within a 40 km radial distance from the institution they want to get admission to.

MBA Seats in Government College

For candidates aiming for government seats, the eligibility criteria are as follows:
  • The candidates should have passed the qualifying examination from Karnataka. Either of their parents should have studied in Karnataka for a duration of a minimum of seven years.
  • The candidate should have completed a minimum of seven years of schooling from a Karnataka government-recognised institution starting from the 1st standard.
  • They must have passed either the 10th or 12th grade from a government-recognised institution in Karnataka.
  • Children of ex-servicemen with residence in Karnataka when they joined the defense services are eligible.
