Candidates need to understand that AIMA’s role ends with conducting the exam and forwarding scores to the selected colleges. The final admission process is independently managed by each institute, based on their unique evaluation criteria and cut-off requirements. Securing MBA admission through MAT involves a three-stage process:
Register for the MAT exam and select up to five preferred participating B-schools to receive your MAT scores.
Appear for the MAT exam, conducted in February, May, September, or December, through PBT, CBT, or IBT mode.
Participate in the selection rounds—Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI), and Written Ability Test (WAT)—conducted by the institutes you selected during registration.
Candidates qualifying the MAT 2025 exam will be shortlisted for the next stage of the admission process—WAT (Written Ability Test), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI). Shortlisted applicants will receive call letters on their registered email IDs with all necessary instructions.
The call letter will include the following details:
Deadline to complete registration for the selection round
Date, time, and venue for WAT/GD/PI
List of documents required
Admission fee amount to be paid (if applicable)
Documents to Carry for WAT/GD/PI Round:
To ensure a smooth admission process, candidates must bring the following documents:
A copy of the MAT 2025 admit card
MAT 2025 scorecard/rank card
Original and photocopies of Class 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
Original and photocopies of graduation mark sheets and degree (if applicable)
Recent passport-sized color photographs
Required admission fees (as mentioned in the call letter)
Failure to produce any of the required documents may lead to disqualification from the selection process. Candidates are advised to check the individual institute’s requirements in advance and make the necessary preparations accordingly.
Once the candidates who have appeared for the exam receive their MAT score, the next step is to apply to B-schools of their choice. The final selection is based on the combined performance in MAT and the selection rounds. The selection process generally includes:
Shortlisting based on MAT Score: Colleges release cut-off scores.
Group Discussion (GD): Tests communication and teamwork skills.
Written Ability Test (WAT): Essay writing to assess articulation.
Personal Interview (PI): Evaluates personality, motivation, and knowledge.
