Candidates seeking admission to BAMS/BHMS must have passed the NEET-UG-2023. Only Odisha residents are eligible for all State Quota seats. Only students from Odisha and outside the state are eligible for All India Quota seats in private colleges.

As the State Counselling Authority, the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Committee shall conduct counseling for admission to State Quota Seats in BAMS/BHMS programmes in all government and private institutions in the state. Furthermore, in accordance with the revised guidelines of the Government of India's Ministry of Ayush, OJEE will offer counselling for admission against All India Quota (AIQ) seats at the two Private Ayurvedic Colleges, namely, (i) Sri Sri Nrusinghanath Ayurved College & Research Institute, Paikmal, Bargarh, and (ii) Arilo, Cuttack-based Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital.

BAMS and BHMS Admissions 2023 In Odisha, Criteria For Eligibility

The main eligibility for BAMS and BHMS admissions 2023 in Odisha is that the candidate must pass NEET in the first place. Apart from that, eligibility also depends on caste, the courses for which the candidate is applying, etc. The eligibility criteria for BAMS and BHMS admissions 2023 in Odisha are as follows. 1. Candidates who want to take part in the BAMS/BHMS counselling must have passed the NEET (UG)-2023 with a valid rank. (To be eligible for admission to an undergraduate course for an academic year, a candidate must achieve a minimum of 50 percentile marks in the 'National Eligibility Entrance Test for the Undergraduate Course' held for the aforementioned academic year: Provided, however, that-
  • Candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes must obtain a minimum of 40 percentile marks.
  • For candidates with benchmark disabilities as defined by the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the minimum marks shall be at the 45th percentile in the General category and the 40th percentile in the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.)
2. The candidate must be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2023. 3. For State Quota seats, the candidate's parents must be permanent Odisha residents. During certificate verification, every candidate must present a Resident / Nativity certificate (Form No.-III, See Govt. of Odisha Rule-3). However, no domicile certificate will be required for assignment and admission to AIQ seats in Private Institutions. 4. Passing marks for admission to COURSES OF AYURVEDA, SIDDHA, UNANI & HOMOEOPATHY (ASU&H)-UG courses must be as per the ASU&H-UG regulations and must be carefully followed. Qualifications for the various categories are as follows:
  • For ASU-UG Courses, candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the 10+2 or equivalent examination in the general category and 40% marks in the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.
  • For the Homeopathy-UG Course, the candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology at the 10+2 or equivalent examination in the general category, and 40% marks in the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.
  • In the case of persons with disabilities as defined by the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the minimum qualifying marks in the said qualifying examination shall be as follows: a) 45% in the case of the general category. b) 40% for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.

Counselling Procedure Of BAMS and BHMS Admissions 2023 In Odisha Step By Step

The steps for counseling are as follows- Step 1: All applicants who wish to participate in the BHMS/BAMS counseling and admission process and who meet the above-mentioned eligibility conditions must register online at www.ojee.nic.in by creating their own Username and Password. Only candidates who have registered will be considered for allotment/admission. Step 2: The candidate must complete the online Registration form, select a preference, lock the selection, and print a copy of the form for future reference. During registration, candidates must pay a non-refundable counselling/registration cost of Rs. 1000/- online. Step 3: Candidates who receive provisional allotment in the first round must submit Rs 5000/- as a part-admission fee online at the candidate's login page. Candidates must pay the difference in tuition when they enroll at their respective institutes. Step 4: Candidates who receive a provisional allocation after filling out their choices must
  • Pay the part-admission costs of Rs.5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand Only) online in their candidate login ID.
  • Must choose between freezing and floating, and
  • Must report to the OJEE Cell Gandamunda Bhubaneswar, Odisha on the scheduled date and time for document verification and provisional admission.
Documents that must be verified during document verification at the OJEE Cell at Gandamunda, Bhubaneswar. If the candidate does not report to the OJEE Cell for document verification and provisional admission, the given seat will be canceled, and the candidate may compete in the second round as per the second-round guidelines. Allotted applicants must follow (a), (b), and (c) without exception, or the allotment will be annulled. All seats will be assigned solely on the basis of eligibility, filled preferences, and merit.

BAMS and BHMS Admissions 2023 In Odisha Documents List

Candidates must bring the original certificates/documents listed below before reporting to the OJEE Cell in Gandamunda for document verification and provisional admission. During document verification, one set photocopy must be made in addition to the original set.
  • 10th-grade diploma and mark sheet
  • HS pass certificate with grade sheet
  • College/High School Diploma
  • Odisha Nativity/Resident Certificate (Form-III, See Rule-3 of the Govt. of Odisha)
  • SC/ST Birth Certificate issued by a competent body of the Government of Odisha (See Rule-8(I)) (if applicable)
  • Green Card granted by the Government of Odisha's Family Welfare Department (where applicable).
  • Only EWS certificates granted by competent authorities (where applicable) for the fiscal year 202324 will be accepted.
1. Candidates applying under the Physically Challenged (PC) or Ex-Serviceman (ES) quotas should read Section D: Reservations for further information. 2. To be eligible for admission under any form of quota, one must have an Odisha Nativity/Resident Certificate as well as the applicable Quota Certificate. Failure to present the appropriate documentation during the document verification period would result in the revocation of the allotted seat under that claimed quota. 3. No domicile certificate will be required for allotment and admission to AIQ seats in Private Institutions.

Reservations For BAMSBHMS Admissions 2023 In Odisha

The reservation details are as follows- 1. Seats allotted to states For selection, the Government of Odisha's reservation policy would be implemented. Reservations for various categories will be as follows: Where applicable, Scheduled Tribes (ST) receive 12%, Scheduled Castes (SC) receive 8%, Physically Challenged (PC) receive 5%, Ex-Servicemen (ES) receive 3%, Green Card Holders (GC) receive 5%, and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) receive 10%. Note :
  • ST/SC candidates must submit caste certificates issued by the state of Odisha in order to be eligible for reservation in the category in Odisha. (See GoI letter No. BC/16014/1/82 /SC & BCD/ Dated 22.02.1985), and they must be Odisha permanent residents.
  • Candidates claiming reservation under the PC category must have a valid UDID and must take a test at SCB Medical College, Cuttack, on the scheduled date and time. Other certificates will not be accepted. Candidates with 40% or more impairments will be considered for reservation. The candidate must be long-term. The Medical Board dates will be announced on the OJEE website.
  • For the Ex-Serviceman (ES) category, the Rajya Sainik Board will send the names of qualified applicants directly to OJEE. Only these individuals are eligible for the ES quota. As a result, candidates should contact the Rajya Sainik Board (RSB) in order for their names to be suggested within the specified time and date. Candidates whose parents are still serving in the armed forces are ineligible for reservation under this category.
  • Candidates claiming Green Card reservation must present original green cards issued by the Government of Odisha alone. They must not have had the opportunity before. The date of birth and name on the card must exactly match those on the HSC certificate. In the event of a mismatch, candidates must submit an affidavit for correction; otherwise, their claim in the GC category will be denied, and they would only be evaluated in the Unreserved category. In addition, such individuals must be permanent Odisha residents.
  • Candidates who intend to claim seats in the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category must indicate this during registration and provide authentic EWS certificates as specified by the relevant government notice.
  • If a sufficient number of candidates are not available in any Reserved category, the category's unfilled seats will be combined with those in the Unreserved category. This will be done in accordance with the government's recommendations.
2. AIQ Seating : All AIQ UG seats at Private Institutes are open. However, there will be category-specific relaxations in the qualifying condition.

After Registration In BAMS and BHMS Admissions 2023 In Odisha, Choice Locking

The steps to be completed after registration are-
  1. Log in with the correct user id (your neet ug--2023 application number) and password (that you have generated).
  2. Please read the top menu buttons on the opened page.
  3. Choose "available choices" from the many buttons.
  4. You can see the list of options that you will select.
  5. Click "fill choices" to exercise your options.
  6. The available options are displayed in the left window.
  7. You can select your preferred option. "first select the best option, then second preference, and so on."
  8. Your selected option will be displayed on the right window.
  9. In the right window, check the order of your filled choices in accordance with your preference.
  10. Change any of the filled choices to exercise the correct prference you want.
  11. Use "save and continue" as many times as you need to save the job you're working on.
  12. After completion, click "save and exit" to view the selected options. The "lock choice" option is also available on this page of the top menu. To go to a new page, use either of the above two options.
  13. On the new page, you will see the list of choices you filled in order of preference. Notice: do not lock the options until you are completely satisfied with the order of your filled options. Before locking, you can fill in and modify the options as many times as you like.
  14. If you are satisfied with the selected options and wish to lock, then find the option "lock" at the bottom of this page. Go right now.

If you select "back" to modify your options, you may go back, rearrange, and modify your options.

  1. Choice licking: when choice licking is enabled, the candidate's choices can be locked by his/her password.
  2. If you are unable to lock your choices for any reason, your last filled choice will be automatically locked in the server at the time of choice filling/locking closure.

BAMS and BHMS Admission 2023 In Odisha, Online Allotment Process

The online allotment process consists of several steps such as allocation in the first round, withdrawal of names etc.

Allocation In The First Round

The details about the first round allocation are as follows-
  1. All registered candidates are tentatively assigned seats in the first round based on their merit (NEET Rank) and choices exercised. Reservations will be evaluated in accordance with the candidate's declaration during registration.
  2. Following provisional allotment, these candidates must pay a Rs 5000/- admission fee online in the candidate's login site, choose between 'freeze' and 'float,' and go to the OJEE Cell for document verification and provisional admission. The required detail documents are mentioned in Section C: List of Documents.
  3. Candidates who have paid the admission costs, exercised their freeze/float option, and successfully had their documents validated are considered for provisional admission in the category and sub-category to which they have been assigned.
  4. Candidates who do not follow the instructions in (2) above are disqualified and will not be considered for admission.
  5. Candidates who fail to show required documentation for their claimed category or sub-category will be disqualified from their temporary allocation and will be considered as general candidates in the upcoming phase of allotment, and the candidate will have to fill choice again in the second round. WITHDRAWAL Any candidate who wishes to withdraw from the process or resign from the allotted seat for any reason may do so within the 'withdrawal' period specified in the schedule.

Counseling In The Second Round

The steps for counseling in the second round are as follows-
  1. This round will begin with registration for candidates who have not already enrolled.
  2. Candidates who were not given a seat in the first round or who were allotted a seat but did not report must fill out new options to be considered for the second-round allotment process.
  3. Candidates who have been assigned a seat and completed all reporting obligations by making a freeze/float must not participate in this round. Candidates that used their float option will be promoted depending on their rank, choice filled, and subject to seat availability.
  4. Candidates who do not pay their online fees and/or do not comply with the online document verification process after the first round of selection will be considered unreported cases.
  5. Candidates who receive a new allotment in this round must pay the online fee and finish the reporting process by reporting to the OJEE cell and completing the document verification process as previously instructed.

Final Allocation Letter

If a vacancy still remains at the end of the second round of counseling for any reason, upgradation / internal sliding among existing candidates who have indicated a willingness to be in the "float" option will be processed. Following that, candidates can obtain their Final Allotment Letter and will be instructed to report to their particular institutes.

Admission On The Spot

Spot Counseling will be held if a vacancy emerges after candidates have reported to their assigned institutes. The procedure and timetable for spot counseling will be communicated subsequently.

Physically Challenged (PC) Candidates Medical Board (MBBS/BDS 3rd Round & BAMS and BHMS)

State domicile Physically Challenged (PC) Category Candidates with valid NEET- UG 2023 Ranks, BAMS and BHMS and 3rd round of MBBS/BDS interested in taking admission under PC category in courses of BAMS/BHMS & MBBS/BDS of Govt and Private colleges of the State are required to attend the Medical Board at LT - II, SCB Medical College, Cuttack on 08.09.2023 at 10.00 AM positively. To the Medical Board, candidates must carry their PWD ID (Unique Disability ID) granted by the relevant Authority, as well as their admit card, rank card, and photo identity card. Candidates must arrive at the Board by 9.30 a.m. with masks, personal sanitizers, and so on, and must maintain social contact. The Medical Board's decision is final and binding. Admission to the PC category will be granted solely on the advice of this Board. Candidates who fail to appear for the Medical Board on the scheduled day will not be considered for the Physically Challenged (PC) category.

Candidates Applying For MBBS/BDS and BAMS/BHMS Courses Under The Ex-Servicemen Category

Odisha Native Ex-Servicemen Candidates who have qualified in NEET (UG) - 2023 and wish to participate in OJEE counselling under Ex-Servicemen (ES) category for admission in MBBS/BDS & BAMS/BHMS Courses of Government and Private Colleges in the State are advised to report to Rajya Sainik Board, Odisha at IRC Village, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar on September 8th. Candidates must bring their Admit Card, Rank Card, Photo ID evidence, and other documents relevant to parental service to the ES Board. The ES Board's decision is final and binding. Admission to the ES category will be granted solely on the advice of this Board. The list of eligible candidates will be posted on the OJEE website in due course.
