On June 6, NTA stated in response to candidate queries about the NEET UG 2024 results. It mentioned several writ petitions filed in the High Courts of Punjab & Haryana, Delhi, and Chhattisgarh about exam time loss. After a thorough evaluation, 1,563 candidates were compensated, and their marks were adjusted. The NTA confirmed that CCTV footage verified no compromise in the exam’s integrity at the affected centers.
Additionally, a serious issue has arisen involving an alleged cheating scam. Parshuram Roy, owner of a foreign education consultancy, and Tushar Bhatt, a school teacher, along with at least 16 students from Gujarat, have been accused of fraud. These individuals allegedly paid Rs 10 lakh each to fraudulently pass the NEET exam.

This year, a total of 2,333,297 students took the NEET exam for which the results were declared on June 4.
Under the result, 67 students secured 720 marks, and 1563 students obtained grace marks due to loss of time during the exam. Admission to top-notch medical and dental colleges is offered based on NEET Score followed by online counseling. But due to this concern, the rank of students impacted and their chance of admission to top colleges get lost in the counseling rounds. The students with top scores are not getting admission to reputed institutes.

On June 10, 2024, Alakh Sir filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the NTA’s decision to award grace marks, labeling the compensatory marks as arbitrary. The court conducted the hearing on June 12. Political leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, called for an investigation into the alleged NTA scam, criticizing the government for dismissing the possibility of a paper leak.
On June 11, the Supreme Court issued a notice to the NTA regarding a plea to cancel the NEET UG 2024 exam due to alleged paper leaks. Justices Vikram Nath and Ahasanuddin Amanullah sought clarity on the matter, emphasizing the need for answers.
