NEET Ban in Tamil Nadu: Udayanidhi Stalin, the State Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, has launched an 'egg campaign' in response to the government's decision to drop the qualifying marks for NEET PG Counselling 2023 to zero.
The campaign aims to get 50 lakh signatures in 50 days across the state, showing that people are against the NEET exam. Stalin has been saying that the BJP is playing politics with the NEET exam for a while now. He and other DMK members have signed a petition for NEET Ban in Tamil Nadu. Using an egg as a symbol, DMK launched a signature campaign advocating for the ban of NEET in Tamil Nadu. Udhayanidhi, humorously portraying NEET with an egg denoting zero, criticized the Centre for reducing the qualifying percentile for NEET-PG to zero. He claimed, 'This indicates that those unable to qualify for NEET-PG can secure admission by paying money.' Udhayanidhi urged political parties, especially the opposition AIADMK, to unite against NEET. AIADMK Organising Secretary D Jayakumar responded sharply, accusing the DMK of deceiving the public on the issue. "Now, the DMK has revealed its secret on abolishing NEET in the country," he said, suggesting that as long as people remained trusting, tricksters would take advantage. Quoting a song from the late Chief Minister M G Ramachandran's film, he questioned how long these deceptive practices would continue. "The Chief Minister promised to abolish NEET with a single signature.
