NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) related to the NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination, covering fee refunds, exam centres, city selection, exam timing, and other important guidelines issued by NTA.

Q1. Is the examination fee going to be refunded?

Yes. As per the NEET Re Exam Fee Refund update from NTA, candidates have currently been given the option to update their present address and select their preferred examination city (with two choices). A separate module for sharing bank account details was provided to candidates by 21 May 2026, which will be used to process the refund of the examination fee.

Q2. Can I change the medium of examination for the re-exam?

No. According to the NTA NEET Re Exam Guidelines, the medium of examination selected at the time of submitting the application form earlier is final and cannot be changed for the re-examination under any circumstances.

Q3. A message appears saying "the city selection is unavailable based on the updated address and the application medium chosen during application form filling." What should I do?

This message appears because the medium of examination you selected while filling the application form is now fixed and cannot be changed at this stage. As a result, your NEET Re Exam City Selection options may be limited based on that medium and its associated locations.

Candidates are advised to refer to Para 6 (ix) of Chapter 4 of the NEET (UG)-2026 Information Bulletin for details about the available medium options and their corresponding States/locations.

Q4. Will the same examination centre be allotted again for the re-exam?

Not necessarily. As per NEET Re Exam Centre Allotment rules, examination centres are allotted based on the city selected by the candidate, and the allotment is done randomly. Therefore, the centre allotted for the re-examination may or may not be the same as the one allotted earlier.

Q5. What is the date and timing of the NEET (UG)-2026 Re-Examination?

The NEET UG Re Examination 2026 will be conducted on 21 June 2026 (Sunday), from 02:00 PM to 05:15 PM, including the time required for formalities. This is one of the most important NEET Re Exam Important Instructions, so candidates should mark this date and timing carefully.

Q6. Why are candidates being given 15 minutes extra time?

As part of the NEET Re Exam Rules 2026, an additional 15 minutes is being provided to candidates for completing documentation, verification, and other examination-related formalities, ensuring that the actual exam duration remains unaffected.

Q7. I faced discomfort/issues during the examination held on 03 May 2026 due to centre-related problems. What should I do?

Candidates who faced any such issues are advised to forward their complaints or grievances, along with supporting details and documents, to the NTA Helpdesk at neetug2026@nta.ac.in.

Q8. The examination centre allotted to me earlier was far from my residence. What can be done?

As per the NEET Re Exam Centre Allotment policy, examination centres are allotted randomly to candidates based on the city choices selected by them. So while the previous centre cannot be changed retroactively, your new city selection for the re-exam could result in a more convenient centre.

Q9. The date of NEET (UG)-2026 Re-Examination is clashing with another examination. Can the date be changed?

No. NTA has clearly stated under the NEET Re Exam Rules 2026 that the date of the re-examination has already been finalized and cannot be changed, regardless of any clashes with other exams.

Q10. Do I need to pay any additional fee for the re-examination?

No. According to the NTA NEET Re Exam Guidelines, candidates are not required to pay any additional fee to appear for the re-examination of NEET (UG)-2026.

These NEET Re Exam 2026 FAQs cover all the latest updates and guidelines released by NTA regarding the NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination. Candidates are strongly advised to:

  • Update their city selection and address details at the earliest

  • Plan their preparation keeping 21 June 2026 in mind

  • Keep checking the official NTA website for the fee refund module

  • Reach out to the NTA Helpdesk at neetug2026@nta.ac.in for any centre-related grievances

Staying informed and following the official NTA NEET Re Exam Guidelines will help you appear for the re-examination smoothly and with full confidence.
