NTA stated that several NEET UG 2024 candidates had filed Writ Petitions in High Courts due to time loss at specific exam centres. In response, a Grievance Redressal Committee was formed to investigate. The committee reviewed CCTV footage from these centres and decided to award compensatory marks to affected candidates.
"The committee calculated the exact duration of time lost by each candidate and awarded compensatory marks based on their answering efficiency, following guidelines set by the Supreme Court in its June 13, 2018 judgment (W.P. 551 of 2018). A total of 1563 candidates received compensatory marks for time lost," NTA stated in its announcement.

These FAQs aim to address concerns raised following the announcement of results on June 4th. Regarding the allocation of compensatory marks due to time loss during the exam, NTA clarified that a Grievance Redressal Committee was established to carefully review grievances and representations with reference to factual reports. 1. Increase in Candidates and High Scores in NEET (UG) – 2024
NTA stated that more candidates achieved perfect scores in NEET (UG) – 2024 because the number of students appearing for NEET exam 2024 rose from 20,38,596 in 2023 to 23,33,297 in 2024. With more candidates, there were naturally more high achievers.
2. Revision in NEET 2024 Answer Key for Physics Question
NTA said they received 13,373 challenges to the provisional answer key for a Physics question. Experts found discrepancies between old and new editions of the NCERT textbook, leading them to accept two correct options instead of one. This revision benefited 44 candidates who scored 720/720 due to this change and 6 candidates due to compensatory marks for lost time.
3. Top 100 Candidates Distribution
According to NTA, the top 100 NEET (UG) – 2024 candidates are spread across 89 different centers in 55 cities within 17 States/UTs. Among them, 73 belong to CBSE Board, highlighting diverse participation across various educational backgrounds.

NTA states that to ensure the authenticity of high scores, NTA employed biometric verification, CCTV surveillance, and strict invigilation during the exam. Post-exam, they analyzed CCTV footage and verified academic backgrounds of top scorers.

According to NTA, At one exam center in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, incorrect distribution of question papers occurred due to a mistake by the Center Superintendent. According to NTA, they are actively investigating instances of impersonation and paper solver gangs, cooperating with law enforcement to take strict actions against offenders.
8. Early Declaration of NEET 2024 Results
NTA stated that NEET (UG) – 2024 results were declared on 4th June 2024 instead of the scheduled 14th June to facilitate timely
