Will NEET 2025 Result be Delayed: The Madras High Court has removed the stay on the National Testing Agency (NTA), allowing the declaration of the NEET 2025 result. This decision came on Friday, June 6, after the court dismissed petitions seeking a re-exam due to power cuts at four exam centres in Chennai. A group of 16 students had filed petitions claiming they faced disruptions during the exam on May 5 because of power outages. They requested a re-exam and urged the court to delay the result until then. However, Justice C. Kumarappan rejected these pleas, stating that a re-exam on such grounds would be unfair to nearly 22 lakh students who took the test across the country.
Earlier, the MP court had put a stay on the result declaration after a student from Indore filed a complaint. The student reported that multiple exam centres in the city had no electricity during the exam on May 4, and no backup power arrangements like generators were available. This was despite advance warnings from the weather department about storms on the exam day.

Earlier, the Madras High Court had stopped the NEET UG 2025 result after 13 students filed a complaint. These students had given the exam at the Avadi centre near Chennai on May 4, 2025. They said that a power cut and heavy rain caused big problems during their test. From 3:00 PM to 4:15 PM, there was no electricity in the exam hall. The lights were dim, and there was no backup power. Also, rainwater entered the room, and many students had to change seats during the exam. They asked for extra time, but the exam staff did not allow it.
Because of this, Justice V. Lakshminarayanan gave an interim order to stop the result from being declared. The judge said that the National Testing Agency (NTA) should wait until the students’ problems were looked into carefully. Now, this issue has been settled, and the court has removed the stay, allowing the NEET 2025 result to be declared.
The MP High Court said many exam centres did not have backup power like generators, even though weather officials warned about storms. Because of this, some students faced difficulties while writing the exam. The court asked the National Testing Agency (NTA), the Central Government, and the electricity company in Madhya Pradesh to explain what happened. They must reply within four weeks. So, the court decided to put a temporary stay on the result. The next hearing is expected on June 30, 2025. The court may take a final decision after that.
Expected Rank for 400 Marks in NEET 2025 |
The court’s stay order has created a lot of confusion for students. Almost 21 lakh students who gave the NEET 2025 exam are now unsure about their results. These students were hoping to see their scores soon, but now they may have to wait until the next court hearing. The result date was earlier expected to be June 14, but now it might be postponed, depending on what the court says on June 30.
Students are also confused about whether this delay is for everyone or only for those who gave the exam in Indore. Till now, the stay seems to apply to all students who appeared for NEET 2025.
