Educational Qualification

• The Essential qualifications are:

• Degree in Nursing / Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery or equivalent.

• Registered with any State Nursing Council.

• Qualifications obtained after 06.11.2025 will not be considered.

• The requisite educational and technical qualification gained through a regular course must have been cleared before the last date of application.

• Applicants holding a Diploma/Degree under the open University Stream are not entitled.

• The applicant must have pursued the Diploma/Degree Course in the pattern on a regular stream.

IGMCRI Nursing Officer Recruitment 2025 Application Process

The mode of applying for Direct Recruitment to the post of Nursing Officer is through offline (Hard copy) mode only.

Procedure to Apply Offline:

1. The candidates have to complete the application form (in annexed format to the notification).

2. Draw a Demand Draft (DD) for the application fee from any Nationalized Bank in favour of "The Director, Indira Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, Puducherry" payable at Puducherry. The DD should be drawn on or after the date of notification.

3. Collect self-attested photostat copies of testimonials as specified (see section 'a' through 'k' of the application form, viz., DD, age certificates, marks certificates, registration certificates, community certificates, nativity certificates, EWS/Disability certificates if applicable, and Employment Exchange card).

4. Enclose the completed Application Form with the DD, Checklist (Annexure-III), and self-attested photocopies of testimonials.

5. The application can be submitted in person or by "Registered Post with Acknowledgement Due," superscribing on the cover "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF NURSING OFFICER, IGMCRI - 2025".

6. Application should reach "The Director, Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Vazhudhavur Road, Kathirkamam, Puducherry 605009" by 05.00 PM on 06.11.2025. Applications submitted after the aforesaid date and time will be rejected forthwith.

Nursing Officer Recruitment Selection Process 2025

Selection will be strictly on the basis of merit, calculated by giving weightage to marks secured in Academic Qualification, Employment Exchange registration seniority, and Incentive marks for COVID-19 duty. The total maximum marks for selection is 120.

The qualifying marks will be calculated as follows:

• A deduction of 5% is made for every additional attempt either to pass or to improve the results, while computing the marks for educational and technical qualifications.

• A Provisional select list will be drawn from the overall merit list by following the rule of reservation.

• A Wait list with a validity of two years will also be drawn.

Resolution of Tie Cases:

In case of a tie in scores, merit will be decided by applying the following criteria in order, until the tie is resolved:

1. Date of birth (older candidate placed higher).

2. Alphabetical order in which the names of the candidates appear.
