American Maths Olympiad

AMO is an international math competition for elementary, middle, and high school students that is organized in collaboration with Singapore International Math Contests Centre (SIMCC) and Southern Illinois University (SIU) . It encourages the importance and comprehension of mathematics. AMO's framework is based on the US Common Core Standards and is available to all students from Grade 2 to 12. American Mathematics Olympiad Awards & Benefits

  • Perfect Score Award
  • Gold Award
  • Silver Award
  • Bronze Award
All the participants will receive a Certificate. The top 40% of the participants will receive an award certificate and a medal (Gold for top 8%, Silver for next 12% and Bronze for next 20%).
  • A physical certificate and a medal are awarded to the top 40% of competitors.
  • The top 40% of winners are invited to compete in the SIMOC (Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge).
  • The top 20% of winners are invited to compete in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics)

Steps to Apply for American Maths Olympiad (AMO)

  • School will send the parent invitation letter to the parents for them to register.
  • The parents will pay directly to school either using cash or EduSave.
  • Teacher can download the registration form, fill in the student information and upload the form to our MDP Portal at https://form.simcc.org. If you are unsure on how to upload to the MDP Portal, you can email in to admin@simcc.org and we will guide you on the process of creating an account up to the process of uploading the form to the portal.

American Maths Olympiad Eligibility

  • The American Mathematics Olympiad (AMO) is now open to all students globally as it is partnered with Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, USA, to create a competition that offers scholarships to study in America.
  • Students in Grades 2 to 12 are eligible to take the AMO Examination.
  1. AMC 8: Designed for students in grade 6-8 and below.
  2. AMC 10: Intended for students in grade 10 and below.
  3. AMC 12: Targeted for students in grade 12 and below.
  4. AIME: For top performers of AMC 10/12 students.
  • USAMO and USAJMO: Selected participants are determined by their performance in AMC 10/12 and AIME
  • The American Mathematics Olympiad (AMO) is open to all Primary 2 to 6, Secondary 1 to 4, and Junior College 1 and 2 students worldwide (or Grades 2 to 12).
