INJSO 2024-25

INJSO 2024-25 : The second stage of the Junior Science Olympiad program is the Indian National Junior Science Olympiad (INJSO). Only NSEJS Qualified Students are Allowed to Take this Exam. The Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) is in charge of organizing the INJSO.

The top 300 kids nationwide who place first in the NSEJS advance to the Indian National Jr. Science Olympiad (INJSO), which is run by IAPT. The top 35 INJSO candidates are invited to IISC Bangalore for the Stage 3 Orientation/Selection Camp. Students at Indian schools enrolled in Class 10 or lower are eligible to take the INJSO Examination. The International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) selection procedure begins with INJSO. The competition seeks to find talented students in science, support and encourage them to pursue careers in science and research.

INJSO Full Form

The INJSO stands for the “Indian National Junior Science Olympiad,” the second stage of the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO), which is conducted by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (India). The Indian National Junior Science Olympiad is an annual science competition for secondary school students held in India. In the INJSO Examination, if there is a tie for the last position; all students with the same marks at this last position will qualify for OCSC in Junior Science. There will be no other criterion or provision for Selection to OCSC (Orientation-cum-Selection Camp). The top 35 candidates from the Indian National Junior Science Olympiad (INJSO) are invited to participate in a two week program. A team of six is ​​then selected to represent India in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO).

INJSO 2024-25 Registration

Applicants are informed that INJSO has a separate registration process. Candidates who qualifed the NSEJS Examination must register themself other-wise they will be disqualifed from the INJSO Examination. Based on a wide range of criteria, around 35 people have been selected for the INJSO Examination. If a student is serious about taking the INJSO 2024-25 exam and wants to apply, they must first qualify for the National Standard Examination In Junior Scientific (NSEJS 2024-25) and finish in the top 35 in their country.

INJSO 2024-25 Application Fee

Students have to pay a registration fee of Rs. 300/- to complete the online registration process which has already been paid while the NSEJS Registration process. This is a one-time fee and students who progress to the next stage and progress further do not have to pay until the final stage, International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO). The INJSO 2024-25 registration fees are non-refundable once paid.

INJSO 2024-25 Exam Pattern

Section I of this INJSO 2024-25 consists of 15 questions.
  • For each question in this section, only one of the four options is a correct answer.
  • For each question, a correct answer will earn 3 marks, a wrong answer will earn (−1) mark, and an un attempted question will earn 0 marks.
  • If you mark more than one option, it would be treated as a wrong answer.
Section II contains 9 questions worth 5 marks each. There is no negative marking.
  • For each of these questions one or more option(s) may be correct.
  • You will get full credit for each question only if you mark all correct options and no wrong option. There are no partial marks for these 9 questions.
Section III contains 11 questions.
  • For all the questions in this section, the process involved in arriving at the solution is more important than the final answer. Valid assumptions / approximations are perfectly acceptable. Please write your method clearly, explicitly stating all the reasonings/ assumptions / approximations.
  • In case you fall short of writing space for any question, you can ask for an extra sheet. You can ask for maximum of two extra sheets.

INJSO Eligibility Criteria

This INJSO exam is open to students of class 10 or below studying in Indian schools. INJSO is the first step in the selection process for the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO). This competition was organized with the aim of identifying and nurturing talented students in science and motivating them to pursue science and research. INJSO 2024 is an exciting opportunity for students to showcase their knowledge, problem solving skills and scientific skills.

The INJSO eligibility criteria are as follows:

  1. Students must be Indian nationals studying in India.

  2. They must be less than 16 years of age on January 1, 2024.

  3. They must be in Class 10 or below as of November 30, 2023.

  4. Students must have secured at least 60% aggregate marks in Class IX and the current academic year up to the end of the first semester.

  5. Students must not have taken any subject in Class 10 before its due time.

  6. Students must not have appeared in any of the previous International Junior Science Olympiads (IJSO) or have undergone any orientation or training programme in any subject of natural science at a higher level before.
