Students often know facts from their textbooks but find it difficult to answer questions about history, geography, sports, science, or the world around them. General knowledge preparation requires regular learning and the ability to connect information from different subjects.
The SilverZone Smart Kid General Knowledge Olympiad gives students an opportunity to test their awareness, practise objective questions, and understand how they perform across different general knowledge topics.
The SilverZone SKGK Olympiad is organised by the SilverZone Foundation for students of Classes 1 to 10. The examination covers general awareness and, for Classes 6 to 10, current affairs. It is conducted at national and international levels, allowing students to compare their performance with participants from different regions.

The Foundation also provides a Chapter-wise Performance Analysis Report to participants. This report includes rank details, chapter-wise performance, percentile scores, and percentage comparisons at class, zonal, and international levels.
The award rules include provisions for students sharing the same rank. Where multiple students receive the same rank, the award or recognition depends on the number of students sharing that rank and the applicable award rules.
Students can refer to the SilverZone Foundation's official website for result announcements and examination updates. The result date for the current examination has not been announced yet, so students should confirm the schedule through official updates or their school.
Preparing for a general knowledge Olympiad involves regular revision, awareness of different topics, and practice with objective questions. Students can use the following methods to organise their preparation.
Start by identifying the topics included in your class's syllabus. Use the syllabus to organise your preparation and divide the topics into manageable sections.
Set aside regular time for general awareness, current affairs where applicable, and revision. A consistent schedule can help you cover the topics without leaving everything until the final days.
SilverZone's Olympiad study material includes chapter-wise content, practice questions, model test papers, and answer keys. These resources can help students revise concepts and practise questions relevant to the examination.
Attempt sample papers to become familiar with the objective-question format. Review your answers after each practice session to identify topics that need more attention.
Previous year question papers provide additional practice and help students become familiar with the examination format. Reviewing mistakes can also help improve accuracy.
Avoid relying only on memorising facts. Try to understand the information you study and practise applying your knowledge to different questions.
After completing a practice paper, check your answers and identify repeated mistakes. Use the results to decide which topics require further revision.
