TIMO 2025, Turkic International Mathematical Olympiad

TIMO 2025: The Turkish Mathematical Competition (TMY) has been conducted since 2019, and starting this year, it has adopted an international aspect, being renamed the Turkic World International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO).

This Olympiad holds a wide-ranging and all-encompassing mission focused on uniting the younger generations. By establishing a platform centered on mathematical and scientific distinction, the initiative seeks to bring together youth from various cultures, fostering their intellectual growth, cultural interchange, and mathematical abilities.

The organization intends to realize these goals by nurturing creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities.

TIMO 2025

The Turkic International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) is an esteemed competition aimed at promoting mathematical excellence among students from world wide.

This TIMO 2025 is open to students from Grade 3 to 12. It is divided into two rounds – the Preliminary Round and the Global Round.

The Preliminary round is scheduled for 21st April 2025 and the Global round will take place from 17th to 22nd April 2025.

TIMO not only focuses on academic growth but also aims to provide participants with invaluable experiences through cultural exchanges and collaborative learning opportunities.

Turkic International Mathematical Olympiad Awards and Recognition

In the selection round, awards are determined based on the points accumulated by the participants.

• Gold Medal: Awarded to those within the highest percentage of the total number of participants (top 5%).

• Silver Medal: Awarded to the next highest percentage of participants (top 10%).

• Bronze Medal: Awarded to the subsequent highest percentage of participants (top 15%).

Certificates are given to every participant for their involvement in the competition, but only those within the above percentages qualify for the final stage.

Final Round Awards:

1. In the final round, awards are determined based on the total points accumulated by participants in each grade level:

• For each category:

• Top 8% will receive a gold medal.

• Top 15% will receive a silver medal.

• Top 30% will receive a bronze medal.

• The remaining up to 50% of participants will receive an Honorable Mention.

2.  The top-performing students in each category globally will receive special prizes:

Global Round Awards:

• First place: PlayStation 5 (PS5)

• Second place: Tablet

• Third place: Smartwatch and wireless earphones.

3. World Champion Scoring System by Country:

In each country, participants' final round results will determine their global rankings. Points will be awarded based on the medals earned in the final round:

• Gold medal: 5 points

• Silver medal: 4 points

• Bronze medal: 3 points

• Honorable Mention: 2 points

• Participation Certificate: 1 point

4. Each country's top-performing student will be awarded a special trophy.

5. SS Category Special Awards:

The top-performing students in the SS category will be accepted by selected universities. Some of these students will receive scholarships of 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25%.

TIMO Registration 2025

Last Date for Heats Registration was 17th November 2024. Students can register online through the official TIMO website or via official country representatives. You will receive some past papers access with answer keys on registration for Olympiad.

TIMO Registration Fee 2025

The registration fee for the Turkic International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) is Rs. 2000/- for the preliminary round, which is the country-level round.

This fee includes access to some past papers and answer keys in downloadable format. Discounts may be available for multiple entries or competitions.

For the Global Round, which takes place in Antalya, Turkey, participants must register separately, with a fee of $980.

This fee covers six days of participation, including half-board accommodation, excursions, and transportation.

TIMO Eligibility Criteria

Students in grades 3 through 12 can participate in the TIMO Olympiad Examination.

TIMO Exam Pattern 2025

For Preliminary Round: Students from Grade 3 to Grade 12 are eligible to appear for TIMO Preliminary round and Language of Examination will be English

Mode of Examination - Online

• 9 groups in total (Category 1 to Category 9)

• Category 1 – Category 8 corresponds to grade 3 to grade 10 respectively

• Category 9 corresponds to grade 11 and 12 respectively

Duration of TIMO Exam

• For Grade 3 & 4 – 60 minutes

• From Grade 5 to 12 – 90 minutes

Types and Number of Questions - All questions will be multiple choice

• For Grade 3 to 4: 20 Questions

• From Grade 5 to 12: 25 Questions

For Global Round: The leading students from every nation qualify to progress to this esteemed international platform, where they contend with colleagues globally in more difficult questions.

The Exam Pattern will be same as that of Preliminary round except the scoring system.

• Each correct answer is awarded 4 points

• Each incorrect answer results in deduction of 1 point

• No points are awarded or deducted for unanswered questions
