Mendel’s Inheritance about heredity:

Gregor Mendel was an Austrian monk and scientist known for his work in genetics and his laws of inheritance. Mendel's work laid the foundation for the modern science of genetics and provided the first systematic explanation of how traits are passed down from generation to generation. Mendel's inheritance laws describe how traits are transmitted from parent to offspring through the generations. The first law, known as the law of segregation, states that during the formation of gametes (sperm or eggs), the two copies of a gene (one from each parent) separate and go into different gametes. This means that each gamete will only contain one copy of a gene, rather than two. The second law, the law of independent assortment, states that the segregation of one gene during gamete formation is independent of the segregation of another gene. This means that one trait's inheritance does not affect another trait's inheritance. To test his laws, Mendel conducted experiments using pea plants. He chose pea plants because they had distinct and easily observable traits, such as flower colour and seed shape, and because they produced many offspring in a single growing season.
