How Can We Conserve Water: All living organisms, from small cyanobacteria to massive blue whales, require water. Water is essential to life as we know it. And life occurs wherever there is water. All life forms, including animals and plants, utilise water.
Water is required for all metabolic activities that occur in plants and animals, as well as in our environment. It is necessary for the survival of life on Earth since it is a component of all biological activities. We just cannot picture our existence without water. It is said to as a "universal solvent" since it can dissolve far more chemicals than any other liquid discovered in nature. However, water cannot dissolve all substances. Because of the limited solubility of oppositely charged particles, water, for example, cannot dissolve fats, waxes, and hydroxides. Water covers approximately 71% of the Earth's surface. Approximately 97% of the water on our planet is salty, with less than 3% being fresh water. Most of the world's freshwater is frozen in glaciers and ice caps or deep below in aquifers. Hence it is important to conserve water.
