India Post Office GDS Result Selection Process
The India Post GDS result is prepared based on the marks obtained or the conversion of grades/points into marks, as explained in the guidelines below. The final selection is made by calculating the percentage up to four decimal places from the Secondary School Examination (10th standard) of recognized boards. Passing all subjects as per the board’s norms is mandatory for consideration.
For Candidates with Marks or Marks & Grades Both: If a candidate’s 10th standard mark sheet contains both marks and grades/points, the total marks will be calculated based on all compulsory and elective/optional subjects (excluding extra subjects, if any). This ensures that candidates with higher marks have a greater chance of selection.
For Candidates with Only Grades: If a candidate's mark sheet has only grades (without marks), the marks will be derived using a multiplication factor of 9.5 as per the table below. This method ensures a fair and standardized approach in evaluating candidates and selecting them for the GDS recruitment based on their academic performance.
