SSC CGL 2026: Required Documents for Form Filling

Candidates should keep the following documents ready before starting the SSC CGL application process. All documents must be valid and available by the “crucial date” mentioned in the official notification.

Academic Certificates

Candidates must have proof of their educational qualifications ready.

• 10th Marksheet

• 12th Marksheet

• Graduation Marksheet or Degree Certificate

Important: If you are currently completing graduation, ensure that all certificates are available before the crucial date mentioned in the notification. If the documents are not available during the Document Verification (DV) stage, the candidate may be declared ineligible.

Photographs

Earlier, applicants had to upload scanned photographs with specific dimensions. However, in recent application processes, SSC has introduced the option of live photograph capture during form submission.

Still, it is advisable to keep a recent passport-size photograph ready that meets general guidelines such as a clear background and proper lighting.

Signature

Candidates must upload a scanned copy of their signature during the application process. Make sure the signature is clear and matches the one used in official documents.

Category Certificates

Candidates belonging to reserved categories must keep their certificates ready while applying.

• EWS Certificate

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate

• SC Certificate

• ST Certificate

EWS Certificate – Important Points

There can sometimes be confusion regarding the validity of the EWS certificate, especially if the notification is released after the start of a new financial year in April.

To avoid any issues, candidates should ideally keep:

• An EWS certificate from the previous financial year, and

• A certificate issued for the current financial year.

Having both certificates ready can make the verification process smoother and reduce the chances of rejection.
