SSC CGL Cut Off 2026: Latest Update
The SSC CGL Cut Off 2026 has not been released yet. It will be announced after the SSC CGL Tier 1 examination and result.
Candidates should note that the SSC CGL Tier 1 cut-off is released separately for different groups of posts. In the previous recruitment cycle, SSC released separate cut-offs for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), Statistical Investigator Grade-II, and other posts.
Until the 2026 cut-off is released, candidates can use the previous year's official cut-off marks as a reference for preparation.
SSC CGL Tier 1 Cut Off 2025
The SSC CGL Tier 1 Cut Off 2025 was released along with the Tier 1 result on 18 December 2025. The Commission used normalized marks for shortlisting candidates for Tier 2 because the Tier 1 examination was conducted in multiple shifts.
The cut-off was released separately for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), Statistical Investigator Grade-II, and all other posts. The category-wise cut-off marks are given below.

Note: The historical cut-offs are presented according to the post-wise lists released by SSC for the respective examination years. Therefore, candidates should compare the cut-off within the same post group rather than treating all figures as a single combined cut-off.
Factors Affecting SSC CGL Cut Off
The SSC CGL cut-off can change from one recruitment cycle to another. Some of the major factors that influence the cut-off include:
-
Difficulty level of the examination: A more difficult paper may result in a comparatively lower cut-off.
-
Number of vacancies: The number of available posts can affect the level of competition.
-
Number of candidates appearing: A larger candidate pool can influence the qualifying marks.
-
Overall performance: The marks scored by candidates across the examination affect the cut-off.
-
Normalization: SSC uses normalization to account for variations in difficulty across different shifts.
SSC CGL Cut Off vs Qualifying Marks
The SSC CGL cut-off and minimum qualifying marks are not the same. Qualifying marks are the minimum marks prescribed for a particular stage, while the cut-off is the benchmark used to shortlist candidates for the next stage.
Therefore, simply meeting the minimum qualifying marks does not necessarily mean that a candidate will be shortlisted. Candidates should aim to score comfortably above the previous year's cut-off while preparing for SSC CGL Tier 1.
