SSC CPO Age Limit

SSC CPO Age Limit for SI Delhi Police and CAPFs

Candidates applying for SI in Delhi Police and SI (GD) in CAPFs must be 20 to 25 years old as on 1 August 2026.

Candidates must have been born:

• Not earlier than 02 August 2001
• Not later than 01 August 2006

SSC CPO Age Limit for SI (Fire) in CISF

For the post of SI (Fire) in CISF, the age limit is 18 to 30 years as on 01 August 2026.

Candidates must have been born:

• Not earlier than 02 August 1996
• Not later than 01 August 2008

The date of birth entered in the application form must match the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate

SSC CPO Age Relaxation

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent.

Candidates who have appeared in their Bachelor's degree or equivalent examination can also apply. However, they must possess the required educational qualification on or before the closing date of applications.

SSC CPO Qualification for SI (Fire) in CISF

Candidates applying for SI (Fire) in CISF must fulfil any of the following prescribed qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised university or equivalent; OR
• Matriculation or equivalent along with a three-year diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Automobile, Chemical, Mining, Aeronautical or Telecommunication Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university, board or institution.

Higher qualifications such as B.Tech/M.Tech in relevant fields may be accepted as an additional qualification, subject to the prescribed basic diploma qualification.

SSC CPO Qualification for Open/Distance Learning Candidates

Degrees, diplomas and certificates obtained through Open and Distance Learning are accepted for Central Government employment only when they meet the recognition requirements prescribed by the relevant authorities, including approval by the Distance Education Bureau of UGC for the applicable period.

SSC CPO Driving Licence Requirement 2026

Male candidates applying for Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police must possess a valid LMV driving licence for motorcycle and car on the date fixed for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT).

Male candidates who do not possess the required driving licence can still apply for and be considered for SI in CAPFs, but they will not be eligible for the SI post in Delhi Police.

SSC CPO Nationality

A candidate applying for SSC CPO 2026 must be:

• A citizen of India, or
• A subject of Nepal, or
• A subject of Bhutan.

Candidates who are subjects of Nepal or Bhutan must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. Such candidates may be admitted to the examination, but appointment will be offered only after the required eligibility certificate is issued.

Candidates must qualify the prescribed Physical Endurance Test (PET). The PET requirements are the same for the applicable posts.

SSC CPO PET Exemption for Ex-Servicemen

SSC CPO Medical Eligibility 2026

Candidates who qualify Paper-II are medically examined by a Medical Officer of the CAPFs or another eligible Medical Officer/Assistant Surgeon of a Grade-I Central or State Government hospital or dispensary.

Candidates declared medically unfit during the Detailed Medical Examination (DME) will undergo a Review Medical Examination (RME) in continuation of the DME, preferably on the next day. The decision of the Re-Medical Board/Review Medical Board is final, and no further appeal or representation will be entertained.

For a right-handed person, the right eye is considered the better eye, and vice versa for a left-handed person. Candidates must also be free from physical defects likely to interfere with efficient performance of their duties.
