The UP Board gives a clear distinction of marks among the various sections. The syllabus is divided into 3 parts and 12 chapters/themes. The marking scheme allows students to understand the subject, not just memorize. • Work on your answer writing skills to score well in the written exam. Follow a proper format i.e., use headings, subheadings, and examples to make your answers structured and clear.

• Make short notes on important historical themes, movements, and personalities like Ashoka, Akbar, Mahatma Gandhi, etc. for quick revision. Create a chart of key historical events and the years they occurred. This helps in revision and for answering chronology/timeline-based questions.

• Analyze the marking scheme to understand the high weightage topics. Prioritize revision for themes like “Rebels and the Raj” and “Mahatma Gandhi and the National Movement” as they carry more marks. 

•  Participate in history-related projects like presentations, discussions, and debates. These will help you with internal assessment marks and understanding topics practically.
