PCS Full Form

PCS Full Form : Provincial Civil Service is the "full form of PCS." The PCS is a state-level civil service made up of Group A and Group B of the administrative branch of the Government of State Service. The state civil service employs employees selected through an exam.

The commission responsible for this is the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). The PCS notification is titled Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services Examination.

The Union Public Service Commission is the central government organization in India that is in charge of conducting exams for recruiting civil servants for different national administrative posts. It's important to remember that the UPSC framework designates the civil services of states other than Uttar Pradesh as "PCS." The PCS examination is conducted by the state public service commissions in each state and is different from the UPSC exam.

  • A bachelor's degree from an authorized institution or an equivalent qualification is required of PCS candidates.
  • The minimum age requirement for candidates is 21, while the maximum age limit is 40.

Salary The entry-level salary for a PCS officer is as per the 7th Pay Commission. An entry-level PCS officer’s salary is in Pay Level 10, with a pay range of Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,32,000. This indicates the basic salary before additional allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other benefits are factored in. The base monthly remuneration of an IAS officer starts at Rs. 56,100, and this is before including additional allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Travel Allowance (TA). The salary can further increase as the officer progresses through various ranks and responsibilities. The highest post in the IAS, Cabinet Secretary, can earn a monthly salary of up to Rs. 2,50,000.
