WBSSC Assistant Teacher Exam Date 2025
The WBSSC SLST Exam Date 2025 has been officially announced by the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) via an official notification posted on www.westbengalssc.com on July 24, 2025. The WBSSC SLST 2025 Exam for Classes 9 and 10 (Secondary) will take place on September 7, 2025, and the exam for Classes 11 and 12 (Higher Secondary) will take place on September 14, 2025, according to the official announcement. WBSSC Assistant Teacher Eligibility 2025
Candidates for the WBSSC Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025 must be of Indian nationality, aged 21-40 years as of January 1, 2025, with a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and 8 years for PH Candidates as per the government of India.
For Classes IX-X, a minimum of a graduate/postgraduate qualification, with a minimum of 50% marks, and B.Ed. graduate; or with 4 years of B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. qualification. For Classes XI-XII, a postgraduate qualification with a minimum of 50% marks and B.Ed. or the B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Edu degree is required.
For the eligible reserved category, a 5% mark reduction specification will be allowed. Male candidates are not eligible to apply for positions at girls' schools.

WBSSC SLST Teacher Syllabus 2025 contains subject-specific knowledge at the level appropriate for the teacher candidate's major, either a bachelor's or master's degree; furthermore, candidate pedagogy, and general levels of knowledge that include Arithmetic & Mensuration, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, and English language.
The written exam will consist of 60 multiple-choice questions (1 mark each) to be completed in 1 hour & no negative marking. Arithmetic will include topics of theory of numbers, LCM & HCF, averages and percentages, profit & loss, time & work, & mensuration. General Knowledge will cover Indian history, Constitution, economy, geography, science, and current affairs. English will include idioms, sentence rearrangement, synonyms, antonyms, and error correction. Subjects will have syllabi with specifics for each of the teaching disciplines.
