Describe your first day at school Sample answer 1

Let's look at some sample answers to "Describe your First Day at School" IELTS speaking cue card questions. Introduction In my life, I've gone to two schools. I moved to Uttarakhand when I was four years old. I enrolled at a preschool located near our home. After I completed my primary schooling, my parents decided to transfer me to a reputable school in our city, where I was able to continue my studies. I went there in fourth grade. Where was it? I can't recall much from my pre-school years therefore, I would like to speak about senior school. My school is Storms Senior Secondary School in Udaipur. It is connected with the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education. What happened? The school had 6 floors, including its basement and ground floor, with a large lawn and playground. My class was located on the third floor of the building. It was double-walled to provide thermal insulation, had high-efficiency air-conditioning systems, utilized solar energy, and recovered and treated sewage. Apart from that, all of the classes in the school have smart boards to aid students with their practical education. After finding our class, we began with a prayer, followed by introductions from each student. Our school eventually offered us chocolate as a sign of love. Explain how you felt on that day. I was quite scared and nervous on the first day since I had been told so much about the school's strict regulations. My classmates, except for 12 students, were all long-time students at the institution. We felt comfortable talking to other students as soon as we got to class thirty minutes early. Conclusion When I went to the school in the morning, I just observed my floor and the reception area. So, during lunch, I decided to go on an entire tour of the school's premises After lunch, I walked around the school, taking in all of the rooms, sports complexes, canteens, and laboratories. Although the school's regulations were strict, the professors were kind, and the students were respectful. I attended the school from first until the 12th grade.

Describe your first day at school Sample answer 2

Here is a sample of an answer to the question, 'Describe your first day at school.' Introduction When I hear the word 'school', my first thoughts are of books, people, and amazing buildings. I remember the security man smiling at me as I approached the school gate. As I walked in, I saw students running around, laughing and playing, as well as parents talking with educators. I went to a playground with miniature toys for preschool students. Later, I saw Sabrina, who was my teacher. She took me to class and introduced me to the other students. This first day of school experience made me happy. I considered finding new friends and socializing with them, but I also knew I had to say goodbye to my parents. As a result, there was a mixture of emotions. Where was it? St. Peter's Higher Secondary School was situated in Bangalore's Jayanagar district. It was 8 km away from my house. So I had to travel to school by bus or vehicle. What happened? On my first day of school, I arrived early to the classroom but found that no one was present in it. I decided to sit on the bench in the very last row. Within a few minutes, the whole class, including the teacher, arrived as well. Then our teacher asked us all to introduce ourselves. Explain how you felt on that day. I was afraid at first, but I was able to say my name. Initially, looking at everyone made me nervous. When I tried to introduce myself, my thoughts went blank, and I couldn't think of anything to say. Then, all of a sudden, I gained the courage to speak. Conclusion I remember doing quite well in several assignments during the day, so I was happy with myself at the end of my first day of school. After discussing my time at school, I suddenly had a desire to return to my school. I want to remember and admire my old memories.

IELTS Speaking Part 3 Follow-up Questions

In this section, you will see follow-up questions on the IELTS Speaking Part 3 Cue card: “Describe your first day at school.” Question : What is the effect of parents' interference with children’s lives too much? Answer : When parents get too involved in their children's lives, they either rebel or go into their own world, becoming shy. Their personalities are neglected, and they are unable to achieve their full potential. Moreover, over-interference hurts children's growth as individuals. Question : Should children rely on their parents or be independent? Answer : Children will always be depending on their parents. They are still in their learning period. As a result, dependency is helpful as they grow up. Meanwhile, overdependence is potentially harmful to children. So, once they begin to start earning, they are supposed to be free to live independently. It remains the responsibility of the parents to raise their children to be independent. Question : Do you think students should be taken to school by their parents or go by themselves? Answer : Primary children should not walk to school alone. Parents should drop off their children or arrange for a vehicle or bus to transport them. Students in high and secondary school may attend independently. Question : How has your school experience affected your life now? Answer : I have a basis of knowledge and talents from my school days that I continue to build on. It has also helped me build social skills and a passion for acquiring knowledge, which I use in all areas of my life.
