Eligibility Criteria for CTET

1. Primary Stage (Paper-I):
   • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR
   • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002 OR
   • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
   • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
   • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
2. Elementary Stage (Paper-II):
   • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR
   • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) OR
   • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard OR
   • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
   • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed OR
   • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Are Engineering Graduates Eligible for CTET

• Engineering candidates interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree now have the opportunity to do so.
• The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) 2014 has relaxed norms, permitting Engineering graduates to enroll in BEd programs.
• This decision allows Engineering graduates to specialize in Mathematics and Science through BEd courses.
• According to NCTE criteria, Engineering graduates with a minimum of 55% marks in any Engineering discipline are eligible for BEd programs in Mathematics and Science.
• Candidates from other backgrounds can also pursue state-based Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) examinations.
• Completion of an engineering course enables individuals to pursue BEd, making them eligible for various teaching positions.
