Educational Qualification
  • Candidates must have a Master’s degree or an equivalent examination in Forensic Science or related subjects from universities/institutions recognized by UGC.
  • Related subjects include but are not limited to Criminology, Criminal Justice, Law, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
  • Candidates who have appeared for their final year Master’s degree examination and are awaiting results are eligible to apply. Such candidates will be admitted provisionally and must pass their Master’s degree.
  • Candidates holding a Ph.D. degree whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of the date of declaration of result) are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks, i.e., from 55% to 50%, for appearing in NET.
Minimum Marks
  • For General/Unreserved/General-EWS candidates, At least 55% marks (without rounding off) in the Master's degree or equivalent examination.
  • Candidates belonging to the OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC/ST/PwD/Transgender categories should secure at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in the Master’s degree or equivalent examination.
Age Limit
  • Candidates must be under 30 years old for the exam. Relaxation options include up to 5 years for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, Transgender, and women applicants, and three years for L.L.M. degree holders.
  • There is no upper age limit for applying for the role of Assistant Professor.
