According to a report by Bernstein published in the Business Standard, India is set to become the fifth-largest travel and tourism market globally , projected to reach $89 billion in outbound tourism spending by 2027, up from $38 billion in 2019.   • E-Visa Facility: The e-visa program now allows nationals from 167 countries to apply online under seven categories, including e-Tourist and e-Business visas. The fees have been significantly reduced, making it more affordable for travelers.

  • PRASHAD Scheme: This initiative, which stands for Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive, aims to improve infrastructure at pilgrimage sites. A total of 46 projects have been approved so far, with ₹1,621.13 crore allocated for their development.
