RRB JE 2026 Notification

The RRB JE 2026 Indicative Notification (CEN No. 04/2026) has been released by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) for the recruitment of 4,098 Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts. RRB JE 2026 Eligibility

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the prescribed Diploma or Engineering Degree in the relevant discipline for the post they are applying for. The post-wise educational qualifications and other eligibility conditions will be provided in the detailed RRB JE 2026 notification. Additionally, candidates must meet the required medical fitness standards specified by the RRBs.

RRB JE 2026 Application Form

The RRB JE 2026 Application Form will be available online from 14 August to 13 September 2026 (Tentative) as per the Indicative Notification (CEN No. 04/2026). Candidates will be able to submit their applications through the official website of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) of their choice once the application link is activated. Before applying, candidates should carefully check the eligibility criteria, upload the required documents, and complete the registration process within the prescribed timeline.

After the application window closes, the RRB is also expected to provide an application modification window for making permitted corrections. The detailed schedule and correction fee, if applicable, will be announced in the detailed RRB JE 2026 notification.

RRB JE 2026 Selection Process

The RRB JE 2026 selection process will include the following stages: 

  • Computer-Based Test (CBT 1): This is the first screening stage. It tests candidates on Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science. 

  • Computer-Based Test (CBT 2): Candidates who qualify for CBT 1 appear for CBT 2. This stage focuses on technical subjects along with General Awareness, Physics & Chemistry, and Basics of Computers. 

  • Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted after CBT 2 are required to verify their educational certificates, identity proof, category certificates (if applicable), and other required documents. 

  • Medical Examination: The final stage checks whether candidates meet the prescribed medical standards required for the Junior Engineer post in the Indian Railways. 

Candidates must qualify for each stage of the selection process to become eligible for the final merit list.

RRB JE 2026 Exam Pattern

The official exam pattern will be released with the detailed notification. The RRB JE 2026 Exam Pattern is expected to include two Computer-Based Tests.

RRB JE CBT 1 Exam Pattern

CBT 1 is a screening test conducted for all notified posts. The normalized score of CBT 1 is used only for shortlisting candidates for CBT 2.

Junior Engineers are placed under Pay Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
