The RRB JE selection process comprises four distinct stages, each serving a vital role in the assessment and selection of candidates.

RRB JE Selection Process: CBT 1

The first stage of the RRB JE Selection Process, known as Computer-Based Test 1 (CBT 1), is a pivotal phase where candidates' knowledge and skills are assessed through Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). CBT 1 is divided into four separate subjects: Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science.

The total number of candidates shortlisted for the second stage must be 15 times the community-wise total vacancy of posts announced against the RRB based on their performance in the first stage CBT. 

RRB JE Selection Process: CBT 2

The second stage of the RRB JE Selection Process, known as Computer-Based Test 2 (CBT 2), is the next crucial step for candidates who have successfully qualified in CBT 1. CBT 2 is also a multiple-choice questions (MCQs) type examination.

This stage comprises various subjects, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Basics of Computer Application, Basics of Environment and Population Control, and Technical Abilities. Candidates are allotted 2 hours to complete this examination.

RRB JE Selection Process: Document Verification

• Candidates must also pass tests for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision, and Night Vision.

(b) B-1:

• Visual Standards: Distance Vision of 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not exceeding 4D).
• Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or performing close work.
• Candidates must also pass tests for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision, and Night Vision.

(c) B-2:

• Physically fit in all respects.
• Visual Standards: Distance Vision of 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power not exceeding 4D).
• Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or performing close work.
• Candidates must also pass a test for Field of Vision.

(d) C-1:

• Physically fit in all respects.
• Visual Standards: Distance Vision of 6/12, 6/18 with or without glasses.
• Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or performing close work.

RRB JE Final Merit List

The results of the RRB JE CHT 2 exam will be used to create the final merit list of applicants selected for recruitment.
