As per the Bank Holidays in May 2024 All banks, including the State Bank of India, will be closed for 10 days in May 2024 for religious festivals and weekend holidays.

Bank Holidays in May 2024: The bank holiday calendar is decided: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the respective state governments decide the bank holiday calendar. Regional holidays vary according to the local customs of different states. Notably, all Nationalized Banks, including State Bank of India (SBI), will have at least 10 days off in May 2024, including second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays. Bank Holidays in May 2024
Bank operations will cease in major cities on 01st May due to the May Day holiday. In addition, Mumbai, Nagpur and Belapur observe Bank Holidays to mark Maharashtra Day.- On 07th May Bank branches in Ahmedabad, Panaji, Bhopal and Raipur will be closed due to the Lok Sabha elections.
- On 08th May, Kolkata banks will be closed to celebrate Rabindranath Tagore's birthday.
- On 10th May, Bengaluru will observe a public holiday to commemorate Basava Jayanti.
- On 13th May, Srinagar banks are closed due to Lok Sabha Elections.
- On 16th May Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, celebrates Republic Day
- 20th May is a public holiday in Mumbai and Belapur due to Lok Sabha elections.
- On 23th May banks are closed in major cities due to Buddha Purnima.
- On 25th May Banks in Mai, Agartala and Bhubaneshwar will be closed due to Lok Sabha elections.
Note: In addition, banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month and every fourth Sunday. The Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases, of which the first two phases will be held on April 19 and 26. The remaining stages are scheduled for the 7th, 13th, 20th, 25th of May, and 1st of June 2024. Counting of votes will take place on June 4 2024.
