The CA Foundation Course is the first step to becoming a Chartered Accountant. This level covers accounting principles, business laws, math, and economics. Exams, held by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), take place in May and November.
Eligibility? If you're in or have completed class 12, you can register. After registering, you get 4 months to prepare. The syllabus has 4 papers:- Principles and Practice of Accounting

CA Foundation Course Registration Procedure
Registering for the CA Foundation course is a simple process that you can complete in a few easy steps:- Start by visiting the ICAI portal and navigating to the 'Course Registration' section under the Student's Tab.
- On the registration form, choose 'New User' to begin.
- Fill in your basic details such as name, date of birth, gender, Aadhar card number, mobile number, email, and create a password.
- Click on "Generate OTP" and verify it. The OTP will be sent to your mobile and a verification link to your email.
- Once verified, your personal profile is created, and you'll receive login credentials.
- Log in, select "Student Cycle," and click on 'Apply for Foundation.' Fill in the required details and click 'Save and Next.'
- Proceed to pay the registration fees online using a Master/Visa/Maestro Credit/Debit/Rupay/Net Banking Card.
- After successful payment, you'll receive the registration form. Sign it and submit it within 7 days.
CA Foundation Course Fees
Check the CA Foundation Course fees for both Indian and foreign students here. For Indian students, the total fee is Rs. 10,900, but it's not a one-time payment. During registration, an initial payment of Rs. 9000, along with Rs. 200 for the foundation prospectus, is required. Additionally, consider subscribing to the student's journal for the latest updates. When filing the foundation exam form, there's an additional fee of Rs. 1500. As for foreign students, the registration fee is $1065, with an initial payment of $700 and $20 for the foundation prospectus during registration. The exam form fee for foreign students is $325.
