BARIUM FLUORIDE FORMULA

Barium fluoride is a chemical compound made of barium and fluorine and has the formula BaF2. It happens in nature in the form of a mineral called frankdicksonite. It is less resistant to water than calcium fluoride, however, it is the most resistant of all the optical fluorides to high-energy radiation, though it is so much ultraviolet transmittance is lower than that of the other fluorides. It's quite hard, very sensitive to thermal shock and fractures quite simply.
