IITM Research Fellow Eligibility 2024

• A Post Graduate degree from a recognized University in Physical Sciences (including Physics, Applied Physics, Atmospheric Sciences, Meteorology, Oceanography, Climate Science, Geophysics with Meteorology, Environmental Sciences, Electronics, or related subjects), Chemical Sciences (including Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or related subjects), or Mathematical Sciences (including Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, statistics, or related subjects) is an essential qualification.
• Alternatively, candidates with an M. Tech. in Atmospheric/Oceanic Sciences or related subjects, or a Master’s degree from any branch of Engineering are eligible.
• Candidates must have qualified in at least one of the following national level examinations: CSIR-UGC NET, UGC NET, ICAR NET (Lecturership/Assistant Professorship), GATE, or JEST.
• A minimum aggregate of 55% marks for General and OBC Category (50% for SC, ST, and PwBD) in the Master’s degree is required.
• Candidates must have studied Physics AND Mathematics subjects at the bachelor’s degree level.
• The maximum age limit for candidates is 28 years as of April 15, 2024.

IITM Research Associate Eligibility 2024

• To qualify for the position of IITM Research Associate, candidates must possess a doctorate degree from a recognized university in fields such as Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanic Sciences, Physics, Applied Physics, Geophysics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Geology, Earth Sciences, Computer Science, Computer Applications, or related subjects.
• Additionally, they must have authored at least one first-author research paper in a Science Citation Index (SCI) journal in the relevant field.
• The age limit for applicants is 35 years as of April 15, 2024.

Steps to Apply for IITM Recruitment 2024

IITM Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

• Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications mentioned in the advertisement. However, these qualifications alone do not guarantee a written test or interview.
• A screening committee will review the applications based on the eligibility criteria given. They may introduce additional criteria if necessary for shortlisting candidates for the written test or interview.
• If there are a large number of applications for IITM Research Fellow positions, a written test may be conducted to shortlist candidates. This test is only for shortlisting purposes and will not be considered in the final selection process.
• The shortlisted or screened-in candidates will be called for an interview before the Selection Committee. Only these candidates will receive communication regarding the interview. IITM will not entertain any correspondence regarding the short-listing process.
• Interview call letters will be sent via email to the shortlisted candidates only. Candidates who are not shortlisted or screened-in will not receive any communication from IITM.
