What are the core subjects in the architecture course?
The core subjects in architecture courses include Theory of Structures, Architectural Drawing and Graphics, Architectural Design, Building Sciences, Building Technology and Materials, etc. The architecture core subjects are often covered between the first and the eighth semesters.
Who is eligible for the NATA exam?
To apply for the NATA 2025 exam candidates must have passed (the Senior Secondary Examination) 10+2, Diploma (10+3), or equivalent exam with 50% marks in aggregate in any stream from the Central/ State Government with Mathematics.
Can I get IIT with NATA?
NATA provides admission into Private and State-level colleges, other than NITs and IITs. The NTA conducts JEE Main whereas NATA is performed by the Council of Architecture (CoA). NITs and GFTIs offer admission based on JEE Main paper 2.
Is maths removed from NATA 2024?
Yes, Mathematics is removed from NATA 2024 and CoA has reintroduced the Drawing section. As per the current pattern of NATA, the examination will consist of two sections - Drawing and Composition and MCQ sections.

Architecture Courses Subjects:
The B.Arch is a 5-year undergraduate architecture program that provides a comprehensive education in architectural design, blending creative and technical skills. Architecture Courses cover a broad range of subjects designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the field. Fundamental Courses often include design principles, where students learn about spatial organization, form-making, and aesthetic considerations. Technical subjects like structural systems, material science, and building technology are crucial for understanding how buildings are constructed and how they perform.
The last date to apply for NATA 2023 has been extended. Candidates can access the NATA application form for the
2nd and 3rd tests by 24th May and 27th June 2024, respectively.
B.Arch Course Structure
The B.Arch syllabus is divided into two stages namely, Stage 1 and Stage 2 over five years of 10 semesters. This curriculum is followed primarily in India's one of the prestigious architectural school, i.e, School of Planning and Architecture.
Stage I consists of Year 1,2, and 3, and Stage II includes Year 4 and 5.
Stage I:
It includes semesters 1 through 6 and covers foundation and exploration themes and topics that assist students in developing knowledge to remove architectural filaments.
Stage II:
One semester is completely dedicated to practical training, while the remaining semesters involve detailed synthesis and ideation studies. At this stage, students can select elective courses as per their choices, which are followed by studio subjects and research training. Throughout the course, choice-based learning is used to help students develop the intrinsic abilities of reflection, re-iteration, investigation, and evaluation that are essential for a solid architectural foundation.
