National Institute of Design (NID) Haryana, also known as NID Kurukshetra was established in 2016 by the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP). It is an autonomous institute and offers full-time Bachelor of Design (B.Des) courses in three specializations. NID Haryana course admission is based on the candidates' performance in the NID DAT entrance exam which has two stages namely Prelims and Mains. NID Haryana is located adjacent to New Delhi. NID Haryana Courses
NID Haryana courses include a full-time four-year Bachelor of Design (B.Des) at the undergraduate level. The course is available in three specializations namely Communication Design, Industrial Design, Textile & Apparel Design. NID Haryana offers a total of 86 seats for B.Des courses. Out of the total 86 seats, 75 seats are for Indian Nationals (25 seats for each specialization), and 11 seats are for overseas students. For admission to NID Haryana courses, candidates have to appear for the NID entrance exam and obtain valid marks. NID Haryana Course Admissions
NID Haryana course admissions under B.Des design programs are entrance-based. NID Haryana offers B.Des program at the UG level for a duration of 4 years in three disciplines in the field of design. Candidates are required to obtain aggregate merit scores in the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) consisting of prelims and mains examinations. NID DAT Prelims and Mains constitute NID Design Aptitude Test. Based on the marks obtained by the candidates in NID DAT Prelims, they will be qualified for the NID DAT Mains examination. The NID Haryana course admissions will be offered based on the weighted scores obtained by the candidates in NID DAT Prelims and Mains. Candidates who clear the prelims and mains of the NID DAT get shortlisted for the NID counselling rounds. Seat allotment to NID Haryana courses will be based on merit list, the candidate's category, and availability of seats under a particular course. For seat confirmation, candidates have to accept the seat allotted to them during counseling, complete the document verification process, and pay the requisite admission fee. It must be noted that candidates who will get admission to B.Des courses at NID Haryana will be required to attend a one-year mandatory foundation program.
