  • Stage 1 (Prelims Exam): Stage 1 of RBI Grade B exam consists of 4 subjects, these are Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and English. A total of 200 questions carrying 200 marks will be asked. The total duration of the exam is 120 minutes with sectional timing. 1/4 score of the questions asked will be deducted as negative marks.
  • Stage 2 (Mains Exam): The 2nd stage is divided into three papers. Papers 1 and 3 are a combination of objective and descriptive papers, while Paper 2 is entirely descriptive. This step is taken into account when generating the final result.
  • Stage 3 (Interview): This is the final stage of the RBI Grade B selection process. There are 75 points in the interview stage, considered for final stage. Candidates are evaluated on their personality, communication skills, and overall suitability for the role.

RBI Grade B Prelims Exam Pattern 2025 for DR (General)

To participate in the RBI Grade B Exam, all candidates must first understand the RBI Grade B Exam Pattern, which is covered in depth below for Prelims and Mains.
  • The preliminary exam for RBI Grade B Officer 2025 is conducted online and consists of four sections.
  • The exam carries a total of 200 marks, and candidates have 120 minutes to complete it.
  • Each section will have its allotted time, which will be mentioned in the information handout released along with the admit card.
  • Candidates must score minimum marks in each section and also achieve a certain overall aggregate score.
  • For every wrong answer, there will be a deduction of 1/4th mark as a negative marking.

RBI Grade B Phase 2 Exam Pattern for DR (General)

  • The RBI Grade B Mains exam is of 300 marks.
  • The Mains (Phase-II) exam for RBI Grade B Officers in Gr B (DR)- General consists of three papers: Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III.
  • Candidates must appear for all shifts of the Mains examination for all 3 papers.
  • Separate Call Letters will be issued for each shift, indicating the schedule and details.
  • Only the candidates who qualify in Phase I and meet the cut off set by the Board will be eligible to take the Phase II online examination.

  • The selection process for RBI Grade B (DR)- DEPR involves an Online/Written Examination and an Interview.
  • The Examination consists of three papers. Paper I is of Objective Type and covers Economics-related topics. Paper II & III are of descriptive type.
  • Candidates who score the minimum required marks in Paper I will be shortlisted for Paper II based on their Paper I marks.
  • The final selection is based on the performance in all three papers (Paper I, II, and III) as well as the interview, which carries 75 marks.

  • Candidates for RBI Grade B (DR)- DSIM will be selected through an Online/Written Examination and an Interview.
  • The Examination comprises three papers. Paper I is of Objective Type and covers Statistics-related topics. Paper II & III are of descriptive type.
  • Candidates who score the minimum required marks in Paper I will be shortlisted for Paper II/ Paper III based on their Paper I marks.
  • The final selection is based on the performance in all three papers (Paper I, II, and III) as well as the interview, which carries 75 marks.

RBI Grade B Interview 2025

In addition to the preliminary and main exams, there will be an interview for candidates who qualify for the RBI Grade B Officer Exam. The interview carries 75 marks, and candidates are shortlisted based on their aggregate marks in Phase II (Paper-I + Paper-II + Paper-III). The cut off for interview shortlisting is decided by the Board according to the number of vacancies. Roll numbers of shortlisted candidates will be published on the RBI website, and interview call letters will be sent via email. Candidates can choose to give the interview in either Hindi or English. The final selection is based on a merit list prepared by combining marks from the Phase-II exam and the interview.

RBI Grade B Document Verification 2025

1. Interview Call Letter: Interview call letter of RBI Grade B shall be released shortly, downloaded from the official RBI website. This is mandatory for entry to the interview venue.

2. Bio-Data: Candidates are required to carry the Bio-Data form and one must fill it out in the specified format (download from the RBI’s website)

3. RBI Grade B Online Application Form: A printed copy of the application form, that was submitted during the registration process.

4. Proof of Identity: Carry a valid photo ID such as:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • PAN Card
  • Voter ID
  • Passport
  • Driving License

5. Date of Birth Proof: Original and photocopy of the Birth Certificate or Class 10 Marksheet/ Certificate showing the Date of Birth.

6. Educational Certificates and Mark Sheets: Original and photocopies of certificates for all academic qualifications, including:

  • Class 10 and Class 12 Marksheet/Certificates
  • Graduation Degree/Marksheet (for all semesters/years)
  • Post-Graduation Certificates (if applicable)
  • RBI Grade B Interview Batch

7. Caste/ Category Certificate (if applicable): Candidates from SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories must provide original and self-attested copies of their category certificates.
OBC candidates must ensure the certificate is in the format specified by RBI and should state their non-creamy layer status.

8. PwBD Certificate (if applicable): Candidates applying under the PwBD category must carry the original and a copy of their disability certificate issued by a competent authority.

9. Work Experience Certificate (if applicable): Original and photocopies of experience certificates for candidates who claimed work experience during the application process.

10. No Objection Certificate (NOC): Candidates currently employed in government or public sector organizations must produce an NOC from their employer.

11. Recent Passport-Size Photographs: Carry at least 2-3 recent color passport-size photographs, preferably the same as uploaded in the application form.

12. Proof of Age Relaxation (if applicable): For candidates claiming age relaxation, relevant supporting documents must be provided.
