The RBI Grade B 2026 Eligibility Criteria include the following key points:
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years of age as of the specified date (born not earlier than July 2, 1995, and not later than July 1, 2004).
Upper age relaxation is granted for M.Phil. (up to 32 years) and PhD holders (up to 34 years).
Age relaxation is available for reserved categories: SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), Physically Handicapped (10 years), combined PH + OBC (13 years), PH + SC/ST (15 years).
Educational Qualification
For Officers in Grade B (General): Graduation in any discipline with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) or post-graduation with a minimum of 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD).
For Officers in Grade B (DEPR): Master's degree in Economics or MBA/PGDM in Finance with at least 55% marks.
For Officers in Grade B (DSIM): Master's degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Mathematical Economics/Econometrics or related fields with at least 55% marks.
Candidates with professional degrees, such as those of Chartered Accountants, may also be eligible.
Number of Attempts
General category candidates have a maximum of 6 attempts; no limit for reserved categories, subject to age criteria.
Nationality
Must be an Indian citizen.

The RBI Grade B Selection Process 2026 has three steps. The first stage of the recruitment drive is the Phase 1 (Prelims) exam. If you score enough marks, you are called for the Phase 2 (Mains), which is comparatively tough and has both writing and objective questions.
