The RBI Grade B 2025 eligibility criteria include the following key points:
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years of age as of the specified date (born not earlier than July 2, 1995, and not later than July 1, 2004).
Upper age relaxation is granted for M.Phil. (up to 32 years) and Ph.D. holders (up to 34 years).
Age relaxation is available for reserved categories: SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), Physically Handicapped (10 years), combined PH + OBC (13 years), PH + SC/ST (15 years).
Educational Qualification
For Officers in Grade B (General): Graduation in any discipline with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) or post-graduation with a minimum of 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD).
For Officers in Grade B (DEPR): Master's degree in Economics or MBA/PGDM in Finance with at least 55% marks.
For Officers in Grade B (DSIM): Master's degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Mathematical Economics/Econometrics or related fields with at least 55% marks.
Candidates with professional degrees like Chartered Accountants may also be eligible.
Number of Attempts
General category candidates have a maximum of 6 attempts; no limit for reserved categories, subject to age criteria.
Nationality
Must be an Indian citizen.

The RBI Grade B selection process 2025 has three steps. The first stage of the recruitment drive is the Phase 1 (Prelims) exam. If you score enough marks, you are called for the Phase 2 (Mains), which is comparatively tough and has both writing and objective questions. If you do well in Mains, you get called for the Interview. Mains and the Interview are considered for the final Merit List. Only the best-scoring candidates get the job.

The RBI Grade B 2025 exam pattern details are as follows:
The RBI Grade B 2025 exam consists of three stages: Phase 1 (Preliminary), Phase 2 (Mains), and the Interview.
Phase 1 is an objective test with a total of 200 questions distributed as follows: English Language (30 questions), General Awareness (80 questions), Quantitative Aptitude (30 questions), and Reasoning (60 questions). The duration for this phase is 120 minutes. 0.25 marks are deducted as negative marking. Additionally, sectional cut-offs are enforced.
Phase 2 consists of 3 papers combining objective and descriptive questions:
Paper 1: Economic and Social Issues – 30 objective questions (50 marks, 30 min) + 4 descriptive questions out of 6 (50 marks, 90 min).
Paper 2: English (Writing Skills) – 3 descriptive questions (100 marks, 90 min).
Paper 3: Finance and Management – 30 objective questions (50 marks, 30 min) + 4 descriptive questions out of 6 (50 marks, 90 min).
Phase 2 total marks: 300; total time: 330 minutes.
The interview round carries 75 marks and 20% weightage in the final selection.
Phase 1 marks are not considered for the final selection list; only scores from Phase 2 and the Interview determine selection.
