What is GMR and PMR in WBJEE 2024: The WBJEE 2024 ranking system can be broadly divided into General Merit Rank (GMR) and Pharmaceutical Merit Rank (PMR).The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) will allocate ranks to candidates based on their results of WBJEE 2024.

WBJEE GMR Tie Breaking Policy 2024

• Students who get least negative marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry will be listed first.
• If there is a tie after applying the above rule, preference will be given to the person with more positive marks in mathematics and physics.
• If there is no tie, preference will be given to those with higher results in mathematics and chemistry.
• The next rule to break the tie, if it persists, is to favor students who get less negative results in math and physics.
• Candidates with less negative marks in Mathematics and Chemistry will have priority in ranking to further tie as per WBJEE ranking system.
• If equality persists even after applying the above rules, preference will be given to those who scored more positively on the Mathematics 2 questions.
• Students who score more positive marks by 2 points will be given preference in Physics questions, unless the balance is broken as per the above rules.
• People with more positive scores 2 points Chemistry questions are prioritized if the tie is not yet resolved.
• In the event of a tie, those with fewer negative scores on two-point math questions will be ranked higher.
• Students with less negative marks in 2-point physics questions are preferred if there is a balance.
• Finally, if a tie remains after fulfilling all the criteria, the senior candidate will be given a higher rank as per the WBJEE Ranking System (GMR).

• In the event of a tie, priority will be given to those who scored more positive points in chemistry.
• People with less negative marks in chemistry will get better rank if balance is maintained after following above rules.
• Those who get 2 points more positive marks in chemistry questions will get higher marks if the balance is not solved.
• Candidates who receive less negative marks in 2 marks. Chemistry questions take precedence in case of a tie.
• In case of a tie, the students with more positive scores for the 2-point physics questions will be ranked.
• People with fewer negative scores on 2-point physics questions are rated higher if equality holds.
• Finally, if a tie is not resolved after fulfilling the above rules, the higher grade (according to age) will be awarded to the senior student.

WBJEE Ranking System 2024

1. Higher scores mean less crowding: if a candidate scores high, there is less competition for them, because only a few candidates score in the upper brackets. However, because of the points, there is not much variation in the ranks.
2. Fewer grades mean more audience: If a candidate scores less, then the competition is huge, because many students would have scored in that class. So, in this case, even a difference of 1 point can lead to a drop of 500-600 points.
3. A negative score causes a decrease in ranking: even if two students get the same result, there may be differences in ranking. This is because one of the candidates had to mark many wrong answers. Hence maintaining accuracy is very important for WBJEE paper.
4. Subject Priority: If 2 people get the same score, they will be ranked according to the Subject Priority. Time priority basically means no. answers to questions in physics, chemistry and mathematics. Hence a candidate who attempts more questions on the most important subject will get a better rank.
