TIFR Full Form: The full form of TIFR is Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. It is an autonomous institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, and was set up in 2002. The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research is often known as TIFR Mumbai.
Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, which is the full form of TIFR Mumbai, comprises the School of Mathematics, the Natural Sciences Faculty (Departments of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Science, High Energy Physics, Nuclear and Atomic Physics, Theoretical Physics, Chemical Sciences and Biological Sciences), and the School of Computer Science and Technology.

The full form of TIFR is Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. In 2002, TIFR Mumbai became accredited as a university. TIFR provides degrees to learners in six disciplines, which are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Science Education, and Computer Science. The University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) granted TIFR Mumbai an "A+" rating for accreditation and recognition.

TIFR, or the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, came into existence on June 1, 1945. TIFR was established with the support of J.R.D. Tata, the chairman of the Tata Group, and the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. The first director of TIFR was Homi Jehangir Bhabha, also known as an Indian physicist.
