IAT Counselling 2025, Participating IISERs, Seat Allotments

IAT Counselling 2025 is a centralized process for admission to Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). The IAT 2025 counseling registration has been closed on 7 July 2025. It has been extended from 3 July to 7 July 2025. Candidates who have secured AIR/Category rank in the IAT 2025 had to register for IAT counselling using their login credentials on the official website at www.iiseradmission.in. Based on the seat availability and preference of candidates, IAT seat allotment 2025 will be done. 

IAT 2025 Overview

IAT, also known as IISER Aptitude Test, is a national-level entrance test for admission to undergraduate programs at the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) across India. IAT 2025 was held on 25 May 2025 in computer-based mode. Shortlisted candidates get admission to 5-year BS-MS (Dual Degree), 4-year BS, and BTech programs at participating IISERs. IAT 2025 Counselling Registration

IAT 2025 counseling registration window opened on 26 June 2025. It has been extended till 7 July 2025 until 5.00 pm. Earlier, the deadline for IAT counselling 2025 registration was 3 July 2025. The extended window gave candidates additional time to complete their IAT registration and appear for the counselling rounds. 

During registration, eligible candidates must fill in their preferences, upload necessary documents, and pay the counselling fee. IAT counselling 2025 is conducted entirely online. No physical presence at any IISER campus is required. 

IAT Counselling Schedule 2025

IAT counselling schedule 2025 has not yet been announced on the official website. The IAT counseling registration concluded on 7 July 2025. IAT counselling 2025 will be conducted in multiple rounds. Once the seat is allotted, candidates need to pay the seat acceptance fee to confirm their admission. 

How to Participate in IAT Counselling 2025?

The step-wise IAT registration process 2025 is given below. 

1. Fill in the IAT Counselling Registration Form 2025: Eligible candidates must fill in their IAT counseling registration form before the last date. There will be separate application forms for each channel of IISER admission 2025.

2. Choice-Filling: Select the choice of courses and institutions for admission as per your preference. This must be done while filling out the application form. Seats will be allotted based on the candidates’ choices and seat availability.

3. Reporting for Document Verification: The next step in the IAT counselling 2025, candidates need to carry all mandatory documents to the allotted centers for document verification. Failing to carry any prescribed documents will result in the disqualification of candidature.

4. IAT Seat Allotment: The final seat allotment is done based on the candidates’ preferences, merit list, and seat availability at the institute. After that, candidates can choose either freeze or float options.

5. Fee Payment: Once the seats are allotted, candidates need to pay the seat acceptance fee. For the general and OBC categories, the fee is Rs 25,000, while for other categories, it is Rs 12,500. 

IAT Participating Institutes

Candidates who have cleared the IAT 2025 can get admission to prestigious science institutes in India, mainly the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs). Many IISERs, including IISER Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, etc, accept IAT scores. Each institute offers BS-MS and other specialized undergraduate programs. IAT Seat Allotment 2025

IAT seat allotment 2025 results will be published on the official website after the conclusion of the counseling process. Admission to IISERs is done in three ways. 

• 50% seats are allotted through KVPY and JEE Advanced. 
• The remaining 50% seats are allotted through the IAT 2025 entrance exam. 
• Vacant seats from the JEE Advanced and KVPY channels will be rolled over into the SCB channel.

Seat Withdrawal Process in IAT Counselling 2025

In case any candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat, he/she can withdraw from the IAT counseling. The application fee is non-refundable. The seat withdrawal process is explained below in detail. 

• Select the “Withdraw Offer” in the application portal. There is no other option available for seat withdrawal. No email or phone communication is accepted. 
• Candidates who have withdrawn from the IAT counselling will not be considered for further admission rounds. You can re-enter the admission process after withdrawing.
• There are two withdrawal dates:

1. Round-wise withdrawal (RW) Date, and
2. Final withdrawal (FW) Date

• There will be no cancellation fee charged for candidates who withdraw before the RW date. 
• If candidates withdraw after the RW deadline but on or before the FW date, a non-refundable fee will be deducted. 
• IISERs and JAC are not responsible for any loss incurred if your application withdrawal is not done within the mentioned deadlines. 
• Once the candidate has withdrawn the offer through the IAT counseling portal, the amount will be paid back. The refund will be done through the same online payment mode (credit/debit card, bank account, etc.) used to pay the SAF. This process will start after only three weeks of the concussion admission process. 
• If, by chance, candidates forget to withdraw on or before the FW deadline, the SAF will be transferred to the allotted IISER. Further withdrawal process will be carried on by that particular IISER. 
• If the candidate fails to join the allotted IISER on the joining date mentioned in the offer later, IISER can decide upon the cancellation fee. 
• Moreover, candidates who have paid the SAF but fail to submit the admission fee at the particular IISERs will not be considered for further rounds of the admission process. 
• If a candidate chooses to withdraw after enrolling at a specific IISER, the refund policy of that particular institute will apply. The Seat Acceptance Fee will be forwarded to the IISER where the candidate ultimately registers, and any additional fees required will be collected by that institute at the time of registration.
