Eligibility Criteria For IIT Patna Admission 2024 (B.Tech )

• The candidate must have passed 10+2 in the science stream with a minimum of 75% marks. Candidates of SC/ST must have scored 65% in 10+2.
• Alternatively, candidates in the top 20 percentile in class 12 can also apply for B. Tech admission.
• The candidate must have a valid JEE Advanced score.
• The candidate must be a citizen of India.

• You can also take admission through the IITP-SAT entrance test followed by a virtual interview. This is an international entrance test for students who are not eligible to take the JEE Advanced exam.

• The candidate must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Biology/Computer Science/Technical Vocational subject.
• The candidate must have obtained at least 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale) or equivalent in the qualifying examination.
• The minimum marks for SC/ST categories is 55% (or a CGPA of 5.5 in 10 point scale) in the qualifying examination.
• The candidate must have appeared in the JEE Main examination and scored a minimum of 75% in the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics sections.
• The candidate must have appeared in the JEE Advanced examination and qualified for the IIT Patna B.S. program.

• The candidate must be a citizen of India.
• The candidate must not have been convicted of any offence involving moral turpitude.
• The candidate must have a valid medical fitness certificate.

• The candidate must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 75% marks in the science stream. Candidates of SC/ST must have scored 65% in 10+2. Alternatively, candidates in the top 20 percentile in class 12 can also apply for B.S. admission.

• The candidate must have a B.E./B.Tech. degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale.
• The candidate must have a valid GATE score in the relevant discipline. The GATE score cutoffs for different M.Tech. programs at IIT Patna are not yet released for the academic session 2023-24. However, the cutoffs for the previous academic session (2022-23) are given below:
  • M.Tech. in Civil Engineering: 650
  • M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering: 750
  • M.Tech. in Electrical Engineering: 700
  • M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering: 700
  • M.Tech. in Information Technology: 700
• The candidate must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be physically and mentally fit to pursue the M.Tech. program.

Selection Criteria For IIT Patna Admission 2024 For (M.Tech)

• The candidate must have a B.Tech degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale) for General/OBC/EWS categories and 55% marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 in 10 point scale) for SC/ST categories.
• The candidate must have a valid score in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2023. The minimum GATE score required for admission will be announced later.
• Final year students yet to appear for their final examination are also eligible to apply, but their admission will be provisional and subject to their securing the minimum qualifying marks in the final examination.
