JEE Advanced 2024 12th Percentage Criteria : CBSE has declared class 12 board results for 2024 on May 13, 2024. According to the data released by CBSE, a total of 24,000 students have secured scores above 95%, while students’ amount of 1.16 lakh have secured scores above 90%. Additionally, more than 1.22 lakh students have been placed in compartments. With this, the overall pass percentage stands at 87.98%, with girls outperforming boys.
Students who are willing for admission to IITs must keep in mind that despite qualifying JEE Main 2024 exam with the minimum qualifying marks for JEE Advanced, students need to secure a minimum of 75% marks in their class 12 board exams. Candidates from SC, ST, and PwD categories need to secure a minimum aggregate of 65% marks. For admission to IIITs, NITs, and GFITs, students must fulfill the same requirements.75% Marks Mandatory for Admission through JEE Advanced 2024
75% Marks Mandatory for Admission through JEE Advanced 2024 : Candidates who are willing to get admission to IITs must satisfy one condition below provided by IIT Madras Condition 1: Interested candidates must pass their class 12th board examination with a minimum of five subjects and 75% aggregate marks. Candidates from SC, ST, and PwD categories are required to score 65% aggregate marks in class 12 for admission. Or, Condition 2: Interested candidates must clear the class 12 board examination with a minimum of five subjects and must fall within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in the respective class 12 board examination. All the mandatory subjects will be included in this calculation within a single academic year. Therefore, candidates must improve their aggregate marks in the board examinations in one or more subjects or they can aim to be within the top 20 percentile. To calculate the aggregate marks and the cutoff marks to meet the top 20 percentile, the subjects considered are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, a language (In case of more than one language, the language with the higher marks will be considered), and any one subject other than the aforementioned four subjects. Furthermore, candidates must be aware of the attempt limit for JEE Advanced 2024. The maximum limit to appear for JEE Advanced 2024 is two consecutive two years. For example, candidates who appeared in JEE Advanced 2023 can also appear for JEE Advanced 2024. However, a candidate who appeared in 2022 is not eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2024.Steps to Do if Scored Less than 75% Marks in Class 12?
There are options to improve the score for those who have scored less than 75% marks in the class 12 board examination. Those candidates can apply for revaluation or opt for improvement exams if there are such types of facilities. If there are no options available, candidates may enroll themselves in the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) or take a year gay to appear for the exam.
